| Reading Powell's post gave me this idea. There are rappers who peek at a young age and burn out, then theres rappers that produce their best or very good music at a later stage of their rap careers save for that classic debut.
Young geniuses: LL Cool J, Das Efx,Onyx, EPMD, , Ice Cube, Kieth Murray,Eminem
Old Pros: Killah Priest (Heavy Mental was his best work but he fell into a slump afterward and back on top), Chino Xl, Nas (see Killah Priest) ,Talib Kweli, Sean Price, Mf Doom, Masta Ace

| I like this idea & your lists.
YG: Shyne, Coolio (young geniuses are harder to come up with, might be reaching some)
OP: Most of the Wu, Jay-Z, Outkast, Scarface, Redman, K-Rino
Enigmas: Mos Def, Busta Rhymes, Snoop Dogg (3rd category for people very sporadic with quality)
