| Now when this album came out, as some of you may or may not remember, I hated it.
Maybe it's just that I am liking some softer stuff as I am getting older, but I re-listened to this on a whim yesterday. I loved it. It could also be how hip-hop has changed so dramatically to "not" hip-hop the last few years, but this album has aged very well. Maybe it was too ahead of its time when it dropped, or maybe I unfairly judged autotune.
I give it a 4.75/5 now, and that could go to full 5/5. I think this album is unfairly hated on now. What are your thoughts?

| This album gave birth to Drake's and KId Cudi's career. The original pussy-boy album. I can't fuck with it though | |

| I think white people tend to like this more than black people so that explains your change in stance. | |

Co-sign. I had pretty much gave up on Kanye when this shit dropped. Terrible. It did birth a this new style of rhyming we are hearing from these new school softcore rappers though like Trot said.

| I can't say that I'm surprised that Steve likes this album (because I don't know you like that) but from the albums that I've seen you big up, 808s doesn't seem to fit in. Wutupwitdat? | |

lol, it was Royce's remake of "Love Lockdown". Heartless is... meh... I wasn't really feeling it. Haven't heard it in a couple years, but I doubt I've come around.

| I love the production 100%. The autotune ruins a good 2/3's of the album though. I'm still able to enjoy Kanye's brilliant production enough to make it a 3.0 star album at least. | |

| Well that's just silly. I could understand it effecting my opinion only as a born-again white man, but I used to completely hate it as utter trash, but now I really like it. I am surprised no one else does. | |

This. In fact, we bump it and always say "this wouldn't be half bad if someone who could actually sing was doing the songs"

| Haha, never heard a Taylor Swift or Bruno Mars album. I don't care for pop/country, and the Bruno Mars lighters song was fuckin' awful on Royce/Em album | |

| I'm a big Kanye fan. I feel this album is decent, but nothing special though. "Love Lockdown" and "Heartless" are my joints. | |

| This Kanye album was about 2 stars IN MY OPINION....not completely horrible but not any good either....Kanye was feeling the loss of his mom on this one and that kinda explains his change in his approach but Nas went through a very similar loss when his mom passed in '02 and he released God's Son (4.50 stars for me by the way)...anything that is dominated by AUTOTUNE is T-Pain-ish not hip-hop...so this album is not even a hip-hop album in my opinion......lol | |

| ...And that's what folks don't understand about this effort. Kanye's production is good for the most part but who wants to hear autotune for a whole album. If he was rapping, this may be tolerable. I don't want to hear autotune period, even if it's Kanye. | |

| it was a cool album, i dig it, but it's nothing memorable besides the production, which was superb. Not flat out wack, about a 3.25 or so imo. | |

| I used to like this album around 2 years ago after listening to it now-after discovering much much better artists/albums- I can't really say I like anything else besides Heartless and Amazing. | |
