Im not a violent guy. I find myself listening to the senseless melee rap more and more. Its like sometimes I get bored of the jazzy, conscience mello rappers and havta put it in some M.O.P. Gunshot sound effects and all. I know its not real, and these guys aint killers, or theyve popped the many record exec assholes that fucked them over on numerous contracts. I find myself pushing the repeat button on tracks that are just over-the-top and sorta goofy with violence. Its exilirating ,
Like this track here. Just senseless hard core shit.

Because people love the coliseum and the very spectacle of it all. It's why action movies are popular and sell a lot. It's why we like combat sports real or fake.
It's something primal. Primates and especially herd/pack mammals in general like watching mano y mano fights within the group. We want to see who's dominant.
If every underground to major rapper in their physical prime got in the ring in a battle royal we'd all be curious to see who really came out on top.

Okay. Not lying, and it's true. If really violent lyrics appeal to you, you occupy a lower strata of being.

It's entertaining. Gets your adrenaline going just like boxing, football (rugby and afl) not your American football with your helmets so you don't hurt your fragile skull, tight pants, shoulder and vagina protectors.
When you are young, maybe to be a rebel and just think your bad ass. Plus you genuinely just love the sound of it. I don't like 50 cent but I think if Get Rich Or Die Tryin' came out the same age I was when I first heard The Chronic I would have loved that shit the same way. When DMX came out that was my 50 cent.
Need some M.O.P. to get amped, need some Tribe to chill.
It just has to be quality. I mean Necro is as violent as it gets and 90% of it is trash to these ears. Mobb Deep's Hell On Earth on the other hand makes me want to fight someone. I never act on it because i'm not a psycho but it just feels good for whatever reason.
I can't stand heavy metal and all that shit but I think people that listen to it get the same feeling hip hop fans get from onyx etc.

My money would be on Bumpy Knuckles for boxing. DMX on crystal meth for UFC and Frank Ocean for Greco-Roman wrestling

Like rez said, it's entertaining. Maybe for the same reason why I love gory videos and splatter/slasher horror films.
"I can't stand heavy metal and all that shit but I think people that listen to it get the same feeling hip hop fans get from onyx etc."
I like some metal genres. But there is no rap song that gives same type of feeling as some metal gives. imo
It's so different from any rap, so energetic, aggressive and overwhelming. I do enjoy rap as a genre more though. But I NEED something more aggressive sometimes.

Theres shit I wont touch like Insane Clown Posse or most shit from the D. I dont like Necro, other than a few songs. MOP are the masters, though they don't delve too much in the sick category. Ceph Titled is a good example. And Killah Priest can also let it go wild. Matter of fact, Sunz Of Manz album Elements were a bunch of early tracks were they rapped about crazy shit.

Well it depends on the strength of "really". I say you're a liar because you like a lot of shit that I know is violent...but is it "really" violent? If we are talking horror core nonsense, than yes, I probably agree with you. I dont like any shit that is over the top and unbelievable. However, I LOVE angry and aggressive Hip Hop when it has purpose and is believable. Good examples have already been given with DMX and MOP. To this day, Hell Is Hot is my therapy when i'm pissed. Do I advocate unnecessary violence? Fuck no. Do I respect and admire the fact that violence is a powerful tool? Absolutely. What I find most intriguing about violence is that no matter how smart someone is, a belligerent retard can still put a bullet. in that brain and its lights out. So much for your intellect. It kinda levels the playing field.

JMT's Violent By Design is probably my ultimate album that fits this category or DMX first joint. I can't stand ICP and that shit. I can listen to some early Esham and Three 6 Mafia but I'm not often in that mood. Spice 1 in his prime as well is an adrenaline rush
Trotter - Detroit has much more going for it than just the horrorcore type stuff. A lot of good music with that dilla vibe to it. Elzhi, Black Milk, One Be Lo and Binary Star, Guilty Simpson, Invincible, Finale, Slum Village, Quelle Chris...

Fun with Fallacious Arguments Argument from (personal) incredulity (divine fallacy, appeal to common sense) – I cannot imagine how this could be true, therefore it must be false.
For Example:

Hazardous, I don't know why you reply to me. I think you're a simpleton. Only an unevolved idiot likes that shit. Same with UFC, all that garbage.
Your peseudo-intellectual approach is always funny. That doesn't apply here, because I didn't say "Gee, I don't like this, so nobody else could" - it also wasn't a statement of "true" or false". Whatever you paid for your degree, you a. overpaid and b. probably don't need it for your custodial job.

That's fine. When you can present an argument that consists of anything other than "I like it" as opposed to trying to examine/discuss what it says about you as a person that you enjoy that sort of thing, let me know.
You, like the other jabroni are apparently trying to argue a mark of a civilized, evolved being is to purposefully inundate themselves with violent porn. I don't need to discuss anything. You're wrong, case closed. My argument has been made by a litany of psychologists and therapists, and anybody who rises above the patriarchal, racist, ignorant masses that enjoy stupid shit like that.
Have a nice day.

This is an interesting read about how our current society represses genuine interactions, so we turn to violent entertainment. Basically not reacting to everyone who annoys the shit out of us drives us mad, so we watch Tarantino. Don't know how much I buy into it, but it is a point of view I hadn't really thought about.

I definitely agree we repress nearly every instinct and emotion we have.
That's not all bad - any man who says he doesn't have an urge to make sweet love to any attractive woman he sees is lying, but acting on that? bad juju.

You misspelled pseudo. I guess this makes this my ad hominem attack.
Your myopic view of the world presupposes you're an authority on who is or isn't intellectual. You then make gross generalizations about groups of people. And when someone points this out you then you say no this is what other people say to deflect it from being seen as your own personal opinion which holds less value. You try to jab your opponent by devaluing them based off what you assume is their occupation as if custodians or janitors lack intellect. Are you seriously going to argue that no intelligent or successful person has ever had a menial job? Look up Tony Lee a former janitor if you need a visual aid. Basically your whole line of reasoning is fallacious and you have the nerve to even imply you're an intellectual is hilarious.
Do you want to know what civilizations is? Human beings coming up with complex ways to take care of the same old needs with very little difference in comparison to the rest of the fauna. Basic needs such as but not limited to food, shelter, sex, combat, etc.
Let's talk about combat for a second. It is usually for self-preservation or dominance. Nobody is going to get killed here so in this scenario it's about dominance. This is how people get ranked. Combat can be indirect like trying to outperform someone for instance in gymnastics where experts or enthusiasts usually peers or former peers assess your performance. Or it can be direct like basketball where a score determines the winner which is usually less subjective which is one of the reasons most males like it. The one thing dominance bouts require is an audience. This is why sports take place in a coliseum or arena. Debating an issue or statement is merely a civilized form of combat and its coliseum is the forum.
When you made your previous BS statement you threw down the gauntlet open to all challengers. If you truly wish to avoid combat you can cease making incendiary comments. It's not my fault you cannot adequately defend yourself. It's not my fault I have experience with better challengers. Don't throw your hat in the ring if you don't want to face challenge from people like me.
You're not an intellectual nor a debater. "we don't believe you, you need more people"-Jay-Z

a) You don't know what I have or haven't lived. You speak on things you know not of. You're making blind assumptions again.
b) No, I argued enjoying combat/fighting/violence real or imagined doesn't prevent you from being an intellectual countering your argument that anyone who did enjoy it was not an intellectual. Plenty of intelligent people have enjoyed watching it and participating it.
