LB is creeping up my list of all time fav groups. I shyed away from these two albums at first because of 9th Wonder's absence, but honestly these albums are BANGERS, especially Getback. Phonte is a beast and Big Pooh isn't far behind him on these joints. |

Co-Sign times infinity!! Little Brother is one of the most lyrical groups of all time. I love their originality and deep subject matter. The Minstrel Show, The Listening, and The Chitlin Circuit 1.5 are all fuckin CLASSICS! |

Powell, Terry, anybody did you check out Asher Roth? I checked out Asher Roth. I like his deeper songs the best, the weed song was funny, but the album has some stinkers on it. Dude should never attempt a club song ---EVER! His biggest mistake is trying to grab everybody at once. In my opinion he has serious potential to disappear though. Needless to say, his album (in general) was a cd that I was glad I tried before I bought it. I think if he stayed on the serious tip, or done some spoken word style stuff, he would have done better. Overall, he gets a 2 MAYBE 3 stars out of 5 because I don't see myself replaying the album at all. Three stars is pushing it though. |

| J Dilla - Jay Stay Paid (good so far after one spin) Jedi Mind Tricks- Violent By Design (big disappointment so far, no where near as good as "Servants in Heaven, Kings in Hell") Blue Scholars- Joe Metro EP (It's Blue Scholars, they never disappoint...duh) Canibus- Rip the Jacker (I bought this a long time ago but never gave it a real listen until now, because lately I'm becoming a Jedi Mind Tricks stan and I gotta listen to all of Stoupe's work. Man I was sleeping hard on this album, I'm loving Stoupe's production and Canibus just kills it on the mic) Jedi Mind Tricks- Animal Rap Ep (I usually don't buy singles, but man the "Animal Rap" remix is just nuts that I had to get a hard copy of it and buying the single was the only way I can get my hands on this masterpiece. Dope ass beat!) |
