Just noticed that this is on Spotify... so it is a mixtape or an album? I thought it was supposed to be an album but then it turned into a mixtape? Somebody clear this shit up for me please. I'll be listening to this soon.
Here's "Kush Cloud" (featuring Krayzie Bone and SpaceGhostPurrp):

You could download the mixtape for free or you could buy the Itunes version without DJ Drama...

I have hopes for the MadLib project but, honestly, MadLib is very inconsistent for me.

I would agree, but I've enjoyed every song they've put out so far. Thuggin' is one of my favorite songs this year. And I usually enjoy full Madlib projects with other rappers....Strong Arm Steady, Madvillain, OJ Simpson etc...

I'm glad you cleared that up. I thought you meant he was flopping. I still need to hear this, shit snuck by me.

I heard this one and it was str8. Nothing really that memorable about it. Gibbs has talent but needs to get with the right person or team to help him out some.

I heard most of this today. It was alright. Gibbs is dope as fuck as an artist but this album and Cold Day In Hell seem like the wrong path for him to take. I like that he can switch up his style from hood shit to serious shit to smooth shit to ignant shit but I just hope he doesn't end up doing too much of the ignant shit. Like Kev said, I think he just needs to find the right people to surround himself with and he'll be fine. While I can dig the Jeezy influence, I like the Madlib influence waaaay better.

If Gibbs is going to have any semblance of a successful career, aligning yourself with Madlib vice Jeezy is a stupid idea.
Mathematics, my friend.

Idk man, wtf is Jeezy really doing these days? I don't really check for him so I wouldn't know but I haven't heard any buzz for him in years. I know Madlib isn't a big ticket kinda player but their sounds blend well so far.

I bet Madlib is one of those guys (like Vakill, who works at UPS) who has an everyday job because rap doesn't sustain his life. Not that that's a bad thing - just saying.
Jeezy may not be all over the airwaves now, but he can still go Gold, especially with some label investment.

Ah, I doubt that... he's got a lot of material out there. Albums like Madvillain & Lootpack are paying him pretty well I'd bet. Plus he's put tracks on a few classic albums. Add that to the YNQ project, touring...
I don't even see where he'd have time for a day job.
Nah man, he's well respected by the artists. He gets paid on them beats.
I'm sure he's not filthy rich, but he supports himself I'd bet.

Well, just like GKMC, I changed my mind about this album. As I said before, Gibbs can pull off any style and do it well. So while I was turned off at first by what I call his ignant shit, he just does it too well for me not to like it. And in the way that some rappers come off phony as fuck, Gibbs conversely comes off real to me. He doesn't sound like he forces anything. He reminds me a lot of 90s era rappers, which is always a bonus. 4.0 for this one.

my friend gave me this last week, think he's trying to help get me out of my cocoon of dislike for much of the newer music. i dont dig mixtapes, but the first track is pretty f'n dope, really... but i found my interest waning at various times... I do need to have a few more listens... money clothes hoez, money clothes hoez, money clothes hoez... ok.. back to the new k-rino for now
