Top 50 Producers of All Time Day #22

Let's take a look at 9th Wonder today. He's worked with Little Brother, Nas, Jay-Z, Sean Price, and Buckshot(personally I didn't dig the production on the Buckshot/9thwonder collab). He's gotten props from Preemo which has to be worth something, so Top 50?

Top 50 for me. And he seems to be getting better as time goes on.

haha! I wasn't around 2 years ago, but i don't think he's as good as some people do. I still like him though, but top 15? that's a bit of a stretch to me.

Bomb Squad-they produced my favorite hip-hop album of all-time and were very unique but outside of Cube's first album and the PE work not much from them and certainly not as versatile as 9th
Rick Rubin-A pioneer whom I love but I have 9th ahead of him too
Erick Sermon-very dope dude, but 9th has stronger beats then him IMO, and just overall better work

9th Wonder dreams about having his drums sound like Havoc's from the 90's. 9th has always had a weak snare in his songs, and always uses the same drums, i think hes even admitted to using the exact same drums in multiple songs, which is a reason a lot of his beats get repetitive.

Yea even though Havoc's drums had the same pattern all almost all the songs they were sick, its what I use to see if Havoc produced the beat, one of my fav's no doubt.

It Takes A Nations Of Millions is better produced than Strictly Business IMO, and I have 9th ahead of The Bomb Squad so why not Erick Sermon??? that's just one album Terry...and it's one of the best of all-time...but I still favor 9th's production my dude overall....and everybody knows that I always favor the old school by a mile over new shit but 9th is that fuckin dope to me

Bomb Squad and Erick Sermon have produced multiple unanimous classics. 9th has not. Erick Sermon has him beat on quality and output. I know you feel the Pete Rock and Dilla type of producers but damn. Also, good look on Teddy Riley.

lol 9th Wonder may have produced full albums but he never produced beats as good as some of True Master's

as far as 4th Disciple its not even close. Silent Weapons for Quiet Wars, Dirty Weaponry are better produced albums than the Minstrel Show and The Listening easily IMO

Top 50 for 9th. He hasn't been around that long but he's produced a lot of bangers.

Neither. I think he has a good ear for samples, but I've never like how he constructs his beat. His drums and shit aren't as consistently shitty as they used to be, but I can't say I think enough of his work is great to call him top 50, and I don't think he's produced a classic. Not to mention that his style is very derivative.

He's not over RZA Pounds but I do have him over the others though, and it's mainly because I like his beats more, but 9th is pretty versatile though I mean dude is working with r&b artists as well as hip-hop artists nowadays, he's gotten even better as time has gone on with his versatility man

they did 6 of the 12 songs, thats half the album, thats enough to mention. There presence was definitely all over it
