Quite easily a super far neither...but after I run out of 5 star albums this album would be towards the top of the mix.

I could see top 100 for this album, but i don't spin Nas nearly enough to say that is set in stone. IMO top 25 seems like a massive stretch even for the biggest Nas fan, but then again i'm not Nas' biggest fan so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

Well you've got Scarface's Untouchable in your Top 25, and that's a stretch when IMO there are 3 Face albums easily better. Just sayin....

Yeah most definitely. I wasn't trying to take a shot at you. There's always gonna be certain albums that seem out of place in peoples rankings, and no one is immune to it. You just happen to be a huge Nas fan, and I'm a huge Scarface fan.

I love how KJ ignores the second part of my sentence. Anyway, we've had the stillmatic is not 5 stars discussion before, no use in rehashing it.

Norf, I'm sure you have at least one album in your Top 25 that most wouldn't rank that high.

Yeah my Top 25 is pretty interchangable as well, especially near the back end. But I love that album and it's highlights like One Mic, Rewind, Rule, Ether, Got Yaself A Gun, You're The Man, 2nd Childhood, etc. Hence this album will be there for years to come.
I can guarantee that everyone in this group has at least one album (if not more) that isn't an objective Top 25.

You know I know for a fact Nas is one of the best artists ever period. And has one of the best discogs in hip hop. For some reason he has fell in that catergory of Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Lil Wayne, Em, and some others that when there name is bought up they get fronted on a lot.

I agree. Nas has made a few poppy singles (but, who doesn't?); underground eliteists hear that and assume he's terrible.

Underground elitists piss me off!!!!
If their favorite artist blew up after a commercial single or two they'd probably stop listening to them. IMO that's queer!!!!
But on a more positive note, Big Ups to Romped! I'm surprised that he voted in favor of this album, yet delighted

No, Kev is saying people are somehow fronting on nas because they are underground elitists... Your are feeding into it.
If anything, Nas is an underground poster boy who people let slide with questionable decisions and songs.

No, Kev was just saying that people group Nas in with Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Eminem, etc. as mainstream sellouts. I brought up underground elitists.

Same difference. Either way it has nothing to do with the conversation or the fact that only groupies consider this 5 stars.

Terry considers this 5 stars, and he's not a Nas "groupie".
I would say that only K-Rino "groupies" consider Solitary Confinement and/or Blood Doctrine 5 stars.

1. I do consider Stillmatic to be a classic, but i think an album can be a classic even with a wack song. Some people adhere to the rule that any album with skip material can't be a classic. just different strokes is all
2. Solitary Confinement was my AOTY for 2009, and i would consider myself a groupie. It's not like i'm out there buying K-Rino clothing.

You defining what a real head is removes any objectivity from anything you have to say.
