Method Man Arrested for Tax Evasion

"NEW YORK – Grammy-winning rapper Method Man has been arrested in New York City on felony charges for failing to pay his taxes.

The 38-year-old rapper turned himself in Monday morning. Authorities say he failed to pay nearly $33,000 in taxes through 2004 and 2007.

He is being charged with repeated failure to file a return and failure to pay taxes.

Method Man, whose real name is Clifford Smith, could face up to four years in prison.

He won a Grammy in 1995 for best rap performance by a group or duo with Mary J. Blige for "I'll Be There For You/You're All That I Need." He is also a member of the group Wu-Tang Clan.

Method Man is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Staten Island Criminal Court."

He stated in an interview that it wasn't that he didn't have the money, just he never bothered to pay.

That's crazy. Just goes to show you that just because you have money doesn't mean that you're above the law. Death and Taxes are the two things in life that are inevitable.

Yea but I think we can both agree that the man ain't broke. And I totally agree on the BS weed cop-out. Disregarding your financial responsibilities is inexcusable especially for a man his age.

Kev i guarantee you Meth is a millionaire. Unless he blows his money like its nothing. You cant forget he's starred and appeared in movies recently in addition to his music. I say he is easily worth a million

Technically Meth like everybody else pays his taxes. Every time he purchases something in America he's paying taxes. On the real, ppl would pay their taxes if it wasn't so complicated.
