This was probably started by somebody who thinks they have an "original" or "edgy" sense of humor. I'm guessing it's supposed to be funny in an ironic way, like a comic who makes racist jokes and when someone calls him on it, he claims that he's simply "poking fun at the idea of racism." They really should . They're not "clever" or funny at all.
