| Heavy D vs. Blu- If Blu dropped another Below The Heavens quality album, I'd pick him. I do love his style, though.
Eazy E vs. Dr Dre- Dre
Killah Priest vs. GZA- Killah Priest. Not the biggest GZA fan.
Tech N9ne vs. Twista- Tech
Rakim vs. Ghostface- Rakim
Del Tha Funkee vs. Andre 3000- Dre 3000
Bushwick Bill vs. Ol Dirty Bastard- ODB
Heather B vs. Da Brat- Da Brat
Mystikal vs. Sean Price- Price. I'm not too deep into Mystikal, though.
Melle Mel vs. Kool Moe Dee- Mellie Mel. Moe Dee is underrated, though, IMO
Stic.Man vs. Boots Riley- Boots. Stic is too... :steve: for me
Chuck D vs. Ice Cube- Cube. My #3 or 4 of all time.
Kool G Rap vs. Nas- Nas
Moka Only vs. DJ Quik- Quik
Bro Ali vs. MC Serch- Bro Ali
Cormega vs. AZ- AZ by a tad
JT Money vs. Too Short- Shorty The Pimp all day
Trugoy vs. Royce Da 5'9- Royce...
Joe Budden vs. Freeway- Freeway
Killer Mike vs. Busta Rhymes- Catalog and ish-wise, Busta. But I think I'd rather listen to Mike

Rakim vs. Ghostface
Del Tha Funkee vs. Andre 3000
Bushwick Bill vs. Ol Dirty Bastard
Heather B vs. Da Brat- (only based on discog but Heather B was the betta delivery to me)
Mystikal vs. Sean Price- (Even though i'm not a fan of monotone rappers I can see the appeal in Gza but this cat solo is boo boo)
Melle Mel vs. Kool Moe Dee
Stic.Man vs. Boots Riley- Shaun I do not think he hates white people..lol.
Chuck D vs. Ice Cube
Kool G Rap vs. Nas
Moka Only vs. DJ Quik
Bro Ali vs. MC Serch

| Heavy D vs. Blu The Heavster...easily.
Eazy E vs. Dr Dre I can only guess we are voting based on rapping, so Eazy E it is.
Killah Priest vs. GZA GZA, but not by much.
Tech N9ne vs. Twista N/A...haven't heard much Tech N9ne to judge.
Rakim vs. Ghostface Rakim
Del Tha Funkee vs. Andre 3000 Andre gets my vote...very close though.
Bushwick Bill vs. Ol Dirty Bastard ODB...loved both of his solo albums.
Heather B vs. Da Brat N/A...never listened to Heather B.
Mystikal vs. Sean Price N/A...not familiar enough with either.
Melle Mel vs. Kool Moe Dee Kool Moe Dee
Stic.Man vs. Boots Riley Boots Riley...in my top 10.
Chuck D vs. Ice Cube Chuck D by a fairly decent amount...love the PE.
Kool G Rap vs. Nas Nas...barely.
Moka Only vs. DJ Quik DJ Quik
Bro Ali vs. MC Serch Brother Ali
Cormega vs. AZ Cormega
JT Money vs. Too Short Too Short
Trugoy vs. Royce Da 5'9 I haven't heard enough of Royce to call this one...
Joe Budden vs. Freeway Joe Budden I guess.
Killer Mike vs. Busta Rhymes Busta Rhymes by a large margin. The album I own from Killer Mike ("Monster") is not that great IMO...

So "Below The Heavens" is better than "Peaceful Journey"? "Blue Funk"? "Nuttin' But Love"? I have at least the first two and maybe all 3 above the B&E personally.

PS>......Bushwick is killing ODB lyrically imo. I agree that BTE is better than the Hev albums, but I still put Hev above Blu because he's got the more expansive and consistent discog. ODB smashes Bushwick though. Return To The 36 is better than anything Bushwick released solo. |

Bushwick may be better than ODB lyrically (to some, it's about even to me), ODB makes better albums and has the best charisma of any rapper (IMO)

Heather B vs. Da Brat - n/a
Mystikal vs. Sean Price
Melle Mel vs. Kool Moe Dee

Chuck D vs. Ice Cube - this one is almost impossible but ill go with Cube slightly

I don't know about all that Powell. I picked Hev too because of his experience. But if Blu can put out another album like Below The Heavens then I'd take him over Hev easily. BTE is better than any Hev album IMO. |

That makes ABSOLUTELY no sense. If you like G Rap better then that's fine (personally I think Nas is better but it's very close), but basing it off of the last two years makes no sense. Say what you will about Untitled (a near classic IMO) but it's EASILY better than anything G Rap has done since Live Or Let Die. |

| Heavy D vs. Blu- Heavy D
Eazy E vs. Dr Dre-Dre
Killah Priest vs. GZA-KP
Tech N9ne vs. Twista-Tech N9ne in skill and albums...ya'll need to LISTEN to cats before you just judge em
Rakim vs. Ghostface-ah ha ha ha ha ha RAKIM
Del Tha Funkee vs. Andre 3000-Dre 3000
Bushwick Bill vs. Ol Dirty Bastard-Push, not a fan of either
Heather B vs. Da Brat-Da Brat if I have to choose one
Mystikal vs. Sean Price-Mystikal, not even close
Melle Mel vs. Kool Moe Dee-Kool Moe Dee
Stic.Man vs. Boots Riley-Boots...Stic.man does actually hate white people
Chuck D vs. Ice Cube-Cube, because of the lyrics
Kool G Rap vs. Nas-Damn...Kool G
Moka Only vs. DJ Quik-Quik far and away
Bro Ali vs. MC Serch-Ali, Serch might as well be wearing a shirt saying "I WISH I WAS BLACK" in huge letters
Cormega vs. AZ-lyrically I'd naturally give it to AZ, but Mega's far more consistent
JT Money vs. Too Short-is this even relevant? $hort because he's a pioneer and we share a birthday...
Trugoy vs. Royce Da 5'9-Royce, of course...I'm not a De La fan but they're no slouches
Joe Budden vs. Freeway-Budden, but Free has improved IMO over the years. Still don't think I could tolerate a whole album by the dude though
Killer Mike vs. Busta Rhymes-Busta, because of his longevity |

He needs more than just one more BTE...he needs about 2 to 3 more to even be in the same conversation as Hev..none of Hev's albums are below 3.5 stars IMO and Blue Funk is a classic IMO Living Large-4 stars Big Tyme-4.5 stars Peaceful Journey-4.75 stars Blue Funk-5 stars Nuttin' But Love-4 stars Waterbed Hev-4 stars Heavy-3.5 stars Vibes-4 stars Blu is goin to need more than just one more BTE to equal that type of track record...to me that match-up is not fair to Blu and I'm pretty sure he would probably even say that....he's got a long way to go and lyrically I don't think he's better than Hev either..so overall he just loses by 30 football fields right now...

I don't know about all that Powell. I picked Hev too because of his experience. But if Blu can put out another album like Below The Heavens then I'd take him over Hev easily. BTE is better than any Hev album IMO.
He needs more than just one more BTE...he needs about 2 to 3 more to even be in the same conversation as Hev..none of Hev's albums are below 3.5 stars IMO and Blue Funk is a classic IMO
Living Large-4 stars Big Tyme-4.5 stars Peaceful Journey-4.75 stars Blue Funk-5 stars Nuttin' But Love-4 stars Waterbed Hev-4 stars Heavy-3.5 stars Vibes-4 stars
Blu is goin to need more than just one more BTE to equal that type of track record...to me that match-up is not fair to Blu and I'm pretty sure he would probably even say that....he's got a long way to go and lyrically I don't think he's better than Hev either..so overall he just loses by 30 football fields right now... I agree Alan, I mean even though I still say Below Heavens overall is betta than all of Heavy's albums to me I still think Heavy is way more consistant and way more entertaining. Blu fell off hard after BTH and needs to get back with exile or something. Zoltar good look on picking Bushwickmuthaphuckingstayhighdollarbillsta. But I do not even faintly see the appeal in Sean Price solo wise. What is it about him you guys really dig? |

| Below The Heavens ain't better than Blue Funk..Peaceful Journey nor Big Tyme IMO
Below The Heavens is a good new school album but that shit ain't timeless like those Heavy D joints Kev
Blu doesn't have any "Now That We've Found Love" "Somebody For Me" "We Got Our Own Thang" "Blue Funk" "Don't Curse" "Is It Good To You"
plus Hev is better than him lyrically too IMO!
and has many more joints actually....Hev is killin him man...EASILY! and I like Blu but he's got a long way to go man!

None of Hev's albums are classic. A few are near classics, but none of them are skip free. As for lyrics, I think Blu's better. Hev's got dope flow and delivery, but lyrics aren't really his strong point IMO. Pete's production makes Hev sound the way he does. But we can agree to disagree. |

Now of course Hev has way more classic singles than Blu, I mean he is atom bombing him right there. I did not say singles wise I said album wise overall. I mean Hev albums did not hit me lyrically like Blu's did. |

| Just for the record guys Below The Heavens is NOT an undisputed classic...who says that??
an UNDISPUTED classic is: Straight Outta Compton Illmatic It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back Midnight Marauders Raising Hell
all of those are examples of UNDISPUTED classics IMO.....Below The Heavens isn't on the level of those albums...let's not overrate it please...lol

| And Kev, do you really think Blu is better than Hev lyrically??
for me it's not even really close there either...I mean Hev held his own with G Rap...Grand Puba...BDK and many others he's collabo'ed with...Hev is just waay better right now...check back with Blu in about 10 years and see where he stands then...lol

| KJ Pete didn't produce that much for Hev man...what are you talking about with that??
Pete did alot of Blue Funk but Hev worked with Teddy Riley..Marley Marl...Eddie F.....Tony Dofat...Nevelle Hodge...too name a few man...Hev is the one who really brought Teddy Riley to the forefront man

Then again, save for Little Brother you basically do that for anything made post-2000. I haven't met anyone other than you and Pounds say that BTH isn't classic. Just because an album is underground doesn't disqualify it from being an undisputed classic. It just means that not as many people have heard it. Just like not as many people have seen Clerks, but it doesn't mean it's not a classic like Animal House, Friday, American Pie, etc... And yes, I know that Teddy was the exec producer (along with Eddie F) for most of Hev's albums, but Pete had a hand in ALL of them with the exception of Livin Large. |

| Teddy PRODUCED a lot of material for Hev Kj just like Eddie F...kill that executive producer bullshit...they weren't just statues on the project like Diddy or some shit..they actually did the beats for those joints...they did more than Pete did...you don't know what your talking about with that one..this is a FACT....
As for Below The Heavens it is a decent album but even it is not skip free...it has about two joints that are lackluster IMO...Juicen' Dranks being one of them....
and that album is not on the level of Blue Funk..or Big Tyme or Peaceful Journey IMO! no matter of whether it's underground or mainstream...who cares man!

| Below The Heavens is dope, but i think it's slightly overrated myself. It's probably close to the 5 star mark, but i'm not sure if i'd call it a classic. I personally like Blue Funk and Peaceful Journey just as much if not more. | |

Just keep in mind I am only speaking on the Blu on that album not the Blu as a complete artist. I already stated how much Blu has fell off since and Hev is top 20 all time for me so I know how far to go with this comparision. Below The Heavens is not a undisputed classic and I agree with that but it is a personal classic for me that gets betta and betta with every spin. I only skip one trk on that one. |
