Can anybody recommend me some smooth, kick it by candlelight type hip hop? I have a big weekend planned and I want the mood to be just right.

You must have some Devin The Dude especially his albums The Dude, To Tha Xtreme, and Landing Gear. Those are his most smooth albums.

LOL
Why get passed out and hung over when you can smoke, enjoy some music, and wake up the next day without a hang over. Plus it makes for a very productive day after.

I don't call waking up at 4 in the afternoon... productive.

You must know some really lazy potheads. Look at Bizzy Bone, notorious reefer addict and he stills tours constantly and releases more solo albums per year than Eminem's ever released.

Exactly A. Scott.
Are you turning into a pot head? Kinda sounds like it the way you're talking.
Those who say pot heads are lazy are being ignorant. Most people don't know how many pot heads they encounter on a daily basis. I used to run the night shift art department at a worldwide printing corporation and I used to smoke weed during lunch nearly everyday. Nobody was the wiser.......for example. I'm always a productive smoker, and I've never had a "weed hangover" - and myth if I ever heard one....unless you're taking gigantic (like 4 foot) bong rips...then maybe...
Of course, if you're IQ is lacking, weed will only make you slower...
Anyway...some favorite smoking albums:
The Coup "Steal This Album" Cypress Hill "Black Sunday" (my first real smoking album. lol) Marvin Gaye "What's Going On" Curtis Mayfield "Superfly" Miles Davis "On the Corner" (1972...nearly my favorite Miles...unlike any of his stuff...jazz-funk-fusion...straight off the street sounding stuff...highly recommended for a chill session...one of the best!) Beck "Midnite Vultures" Ween "Chocolate & Cheese" Ween "The Mollusk" J Dilla "Donuts" Jimi Hendrix "Band Of Gypsys" Pink Floyd "Dark Side Of The Moon" Pink Floyd "Animals" (maybe the best for chillin'...that or the one above, but you probably heard that...(?) Pink Floyd "The Wall" Red Hot Chili Peppers "Freaky Styley" (1985...produced by George Clinton) Sublime "Sublime" (another all-timer)
I'll stop there...I need to go smoke some weed...

Man, this Miles Davis is fucking genius!
Definitely not the typical Miles album (to the hardcore fans - what is?)...as you can tell from the artwork:

I don't wake up at 4pm either. I wake up a lot earlier than that. The next day I eager to start the day, plus I get ambitious and start completing projects around the house. 4 foot bongs and stuff like that seems excessive. I guess I'm a closet smoker. I don't spend a lot of time doing it, nor do I spend a lot of money on things like a 4 foot bong. It's an every now and then type of thing. I've heard of people rolling ridiculously large blunts, and smoking ounces in one sitting. That's waaaay too much for me. A little goes a long way. I guess you could say that I'm a lightweight.
And I like it that way.
Nice music picks by the way. Songs about herb are great for long walks. Pink Floyd is a great band, but The Wall album is depressing to me. There is so much truth in that album that it leaves me speechless.
Check out this link that goes above and beyond the sterotypical "pothead".

Yes! That news clip is awesome! And true! Thanks for posting that.
I don't see how anyone could say it's worse than alcohol if they know the facts. The excess thing is true. It's better in moderation. I went through that phase of smoking a ton. Not that I regret it, but I use it more like medication these days...lol. I still roll about a blunt a week though. lol
Pink Floyd "The Wall" is pretty depressing. It's not all sad though. I get a rush of different emotions when I listen to it. I've been analyzing it since I was 13 though...I still haven't figured it out completely, and probably never will...lol. Have you seen the movie? Also one of my favorite movies. Had it on VHS and re-bought it on DVD I dug it so much. "Animals" and "Dark Side Of The Moon" are better smoking albums though. They simply aren't as deep.

I have seen the movie Alan. It is a good movie. It really drives the point of the album home. I'll have to check out "Animals" and "DSOTM" . I think I've heard Dark Side Of The Moon before. I'll have to find it again and revisit it.
