No, I get that part. I'm just not with it -- for all the reasons that Acrid stated. I personally choose not to associate with that day in any way if at all possible. I wouldn't knock a person for wanting to redefine it, love it, or just flat out celebrate its entire history. It's just not for me.

at a company TGiving luncheon..our supervisor felt the need to tell the fruity,kid approved tale of Thanksgiving...needless to say i rolled my eyes hardcore.....
BTW..theres actually a movement to abolish Columbus Day as a recognized holiday..for all the same reasons as TGiving......

Well the native Americans did celebrate some sort of harvest before the winter set in even before European religious cults did the ol' switcheroony. Hmmm..the term Native American is a bit broad. If you were born in this country shouldn't that make you Native American? If you're not native to this country than what country are you native to? That also reminds me. If America didn't officailly become independent in 1776, America technically only had slavery as an institution for 89 yrs.
