Seriously. You fools heard a Dr. Dre cosign 20 years ago and stay on his nuts like he's really all that... I've grown to not mind him and he is OK... but why skip over all this other dope music coming out of the west and only stay tuned to this guy?

Not for nothing, but the success of The Documentary was due to Dr Dre's production. Doctors Advocate was dope too, but it was basically Game paying homage to Dre.

Basically, Dre made Game was he is, and LAX was a big drop-off from those two albums IMO.

As for Snoop, people can say what they want about him but Doggystyle SMASHES anything Game has ever done.

That's a perfectly fine reason...but how can you hate on another emcee for doing the same thing, but like Game?

Because IMO some artists can do it good and other cant. When i judge music a big part of it is how does it sound when i turn it up really loud. For example a lot of snoop songs imo have really bad hooks and way to poppy for my tastes. Another example is lil wayne or young jeezy, both these artist do have good beats imo, but i cant stand their voice.

Well I am glad we had this talk, I now have new insight on why people like The Game. I have only recently gotten to appreciate his music for what it is. But I still need Doctor's Advocate and apaprently Untold Story

The Game is not overrated I think he is sometimes unfairly judged and bashed. IMO he is one of the few that has the fical ass mainstreamers attetnion but makes good real music. He gets all the sales and attention and actually has talent. I don't think we should try to find the flaws in the man but applaud his staying true to form music wise. He could easily use the same type of party beats every other mainstream act is using but he come with that heat most of the time.

Every other Nas release = Wack, IMO they in no way compare the the quality of his other 4 releases. They are terrible quality IMO and IMO take away Nas chance of a top 5 all time spot.

So in lots of way Nas is wack. Lots of rappers use fake beefs and bullshit to sell records but Nas uses fake ploys such as boycott Fox or Hip hop is dead so sell records. The whole thing with him calling his last album N**** and then changing at the last moment and shit like that are way i hate him. Now Nas probably really does want to boycott fox and all the shit he says, but the way hes trying to use them to sell records is terrible IMO. Untitled had a strong message, but i wish he would have just released the album without making a big deal about call it N***er and going on tv making himself look bad. I dont like the moves Nas is making and what he uses to sell records. I dont like half of the music is released. But how can you deny Illmatic as being one of the greatest records of all time. You dont have to agree with my view but thats how i feel about the subject

I agree that Nas uses these tactics as marketing strategies. It's very similar to Pete Rose admitting to betting on baseball via a book he stood to make a profit off of. I see no difference really.

Untitled is a personal classic IMO, and God's Son and HHID are near classics so I disagree with you entirely.

This goes back to most white people (with the exception of Terry and Shaun) underrating Untitled because it was aimed specifically at blacks.

And FYI, he was FORCED to change the name of the album. He didn't want to.

Nas knew there was no way in hell he could acctually drop an album named that. If nas believes so strongly in what he says he does he should do indie and fund his own shit and do it the way he want so he can be uncensored. If untitled would have been a book it would have been a great read. I dont feel the album was aimed only for blacks, you could say the same about any Pairs or Public Enemy album, all albums i love by the way. Hey im good off fighting with KJ about nas, which is why there where no attacks here. I would like to have a civilized talk with KJ about Nas's other albums some time. Cory for some reason this entire statement doesn't make any sense to me whatsoever....Nas released Untitled to get a message across about being black, black viewpoints and black history, are you saying that you would have rather he released Untitled as a free project and then you would have respected it more??

No its the fact that he going down the red carpet in t shirts and hats that say N***er that bothers me. IMO Black History and Racism are not marketing strategies. They need to be said and i love albums about then but the way he went about it is not respectable to me. IMO he just made himself look bad. If he would have released a few tracks and singles, came out and said hes trying to do something and make a message on his new project i could respect that. Him trying to make a big spectacle out of it make it look like hes not doing it for the right reasons.

Also a real artists makes music because its what they love doing, they should have no problems throwing the people a few free internet albums and shit like that. If hip hop is dead dont make an album saying hip hop is dead, then go tell people to buy your album and support "real" hip hop. A lot of Nas fans are like parents. Its unconditional love, for everything their child does. It may not be their best but you still love it like you have to.
