Who Does Hip Hop Claim?

There are a million hip hop influenced rock/techno/R&B artists out there...does hip hop actually CLAIM any of them?

I know a few people did Gym Class Heroes and things of that ilk...are there any artists you'd go as far to call hip hop?

The only borderline artist I'd really call hip hop are the Dust Brothers.

GCH used to be quite hip-hop. Their first few demos sounded quite a bit like Heiruspecs. That was before the lineup changed. Travis was decent on the mic back then, too.

I always thought (hed)pe repped the right attitude and points of view to be considered hip-hop.

When's Travis' debut dropping, Park? I heard he's doing a TON of singing now and started over on the project (I heard this from Freddy Madball's myspace, so I don't know how true that is...). Also, I didn't know he was signed to T-Pain's label .

i gotta story about GCH... when i was like 16 i went to this local show where my friends rap group was performing and GCH was one of the opening acts there. It was crazy cuz like 2 years later they just blew the fuck up, and i saw them at some shitty Knights of Columbus hall when they were completely unknown and just tryin to get a name out...if i remember right i bought there demo but lost it since

I dunno. I really don't pay attention to them anymore. Knowing how good, how "hip-hop", they could really be right now makes it difficult to listen to what they're doing.
