| I would say underated might be:
B-Real "Smoke N Mirrors"-Not mind blowing but a very solid album.
I also cosign Skyzoo and Tech N9ne. "K.O.D." is up there with his best releases.

| B-Real got plenty of love initially and then faded. Skyzoo did get overlooked though I don't know if I would call it underrated.
I think tech n9ne got lost in the mix and dropped at a time a ton of other quality releases did.
I think Royce, Mega, and Tech all got overshadowed by the AOTY Solitary Confinement. |

| UGK 4 Life. Next to Terry, SRP, and I, I didn't really see it mentioned as one of the top albums. | |

| What you talkin bout Shaun? You noticed my high ranking for Loso's Way but you did not notice UGK 4 Life was in my top 5 for '09? I don't think Tech N9ne got overlooked because almost everyone had something to say about it. My picks are: Big Mike- Serious As Can Be (3.5) Canibus & Keith Murray- UnderGods (this one is just supa tight imo...4.0) J-Ro- Rare Earth B-Boy Funk, Vol. 2 (4.0) Tiye Phoenix- Half Woman Half Amazin (4.0) T-KASH- Brains All Over the Streets (3.75) R.a. The Rugged Man- Legendary Classics, Vol. 1 ( I think only Jeff mentioned this album? 4.25) X-Clan- Mainstream Outlaw (3.75) Camron- Crime Pays (3.5-3.75) |

| I said I didn't really see it. Meaning that we were the only ones who bigged it up all the time. If you did, and I missed it, I apologize | |

| UGK 4 Life was my AOTY. But anyway, I never really saw anyone mention Cunninlynguists SJV1 and SJV2. Both of those were solid releases. | |

| Gift of Gab - Escape 2 Mars. Real quality effort from him, but I never hear about it anywhere. | |

| I sampled that Escape 2 Mars and it did not sound good at all. I know he is experimental with his sound but I don't know about this one. What would you rate it? And how does it stand against 4th Dimensional Rocketships? |

I really dug that album, although it did take a minute to get use to the new sound. He's basically going the same route as his label mate Lyrics Born is taking. I would rate it 4 stars, but it's not better than 4th Dimensional Rocketships, which is a little notch up.

I guarantee nobody here has heard it...except Pounds I suppose I would cop this album if they had a physical copy of it. I don't really mess with digital releases (Blue Scholars & Common Market would be the exceptions...lol).

| D-Sisive's Let the Children Die was overlooked, in my opinion. The limits to its appeal are obvious, but it didn't even seem to gain much traction with the underground crowd you'd expect it to fall in with. | |

| Rise and Avid Record Collector - Risen I really think that this album has a sound that would appeal to most of the listeners in this forum.
I also think the hype died rather quickly for the Saigon/Statik album. It still holds replay value, yet nobody seems to be listening anymore. I can see this being more appreciated down the road.
I also liked Divine Minds/Soulklap quite a bit. I've tried to get them over around here with no success. Alan didn't even like The Quan. smh

Damn, you're right about that. I bumped that 4 or 5 times when I first got it, and never again after that

| I would rate Escape 2 Mars around a 4. It is a little short, and El Gifto Magnifico is trash, but otherwise I think it is real quality. Other than El Gifto Magnifico the album has real nice fluidity to it, and is a good listen all the way through. I like it about the same as 4th dimensional rocketships. If you like 4th dimensional you should also like Escape 2 mars. I also though tend to be in to much more peaceful music then the rest of this forum (no offense to K-Rino or anything) and so if that is what you want, then check out Escape 2 Mars. | |

| I'd rate Escape 2 Mars lower than 4th Dimensional, though honestly, I've never been a big fan of that album either. Production was my issue with both albums, but 4th Dimensional was better in that respect, and Gift of Gab seemed at a higher level consistently. The production on 4th Dimensional did seem more suited to his style, I guess it just suffered in comparison to the more live, eclectic sound of the Blackalicious albums for me. Escape 2 Mars seemed like it just took some poorly thought directions with some of the sounds it tried to incorporate. | |
