The intention of this thread is to identify sellers who you've experienced a bad transaction with when purchasing music, so this page can be referred to and help others when they are considering a purchase.

Bad experiences should be things like condition not as described, overly difficult/unhelpful/rude sellers etc. They should NOT be things like your cd case arrived with a crack in it and was 2 days late.

Name the seller and site (eg Ebay, Amazon, GEMM), the country they are from (if not USA), the things that went wrong, and a list will be alphabetically updated below here for each entry with a brief description. If I am MIA hopefully a Mod can keep it updated, if this idea ends up going anywhere!

If you see a name already entered that you have had a bad experience with, please still share it because the seller will then get a (-1, -2, -3 etc) next to their name for each additional person that has encountered a problem.

If you see a name entered that you have had a good experience with, maybe you could share it also.

Amazon profile: cheap-books-from-school-teachers

In a nutshell, this profile stole the money i sent for 'Soundbombing Vol.II'. When i sent emails asking for the whereabouts, this person gave me the runaround in 2 responses(and had the nerve to cop an attitude thru our messages)..then boom...nothing, never to hear from them again...read the feedback, numerous messages confirm/share the same story..

STAY AWAY

I got a few I will be inputting. I have to look back through some stuff to find them..

On ebay-

*nine*172* from Germany, beware of buying from him as he sells bootlegs and carefully words his auctions to make it look like they are real. Do your research before buying off him.

josh77777, he sold me a cd which he described as like new and it was scratched up pretty bad. Made things difficult and soon became real childish about the whole situation.

hellzaslumpz, another cd described as Like New but it had significant scratches. When I got it there was no teeth in the middle of the case where the cd sit, nor where there any broken teeth lying around inside the case so he sent it in this state. Tried to blame it on the post when it was clearly neglected before sending. He was still a nice seller about it, except said he would send a refund and then never did.

poosters, same deal again, except this mofo got real childish, defensive and rude. Also, with me, he said he posted a cd on a certain date, but postage stamp revealed it was posted 8 days after that. Which I don't care, but why lie?

A big warning if you come across a guy named Derrick Glass, last known location Flushing, NY! Sells under different names on both Amazon and Ebay and Gemm, often has little feedback because his accounts often get closed. He is a scammer, sells cd-r's, bootlegs, you name it. If you are selling stuff, be very weary if you see this guy buying something from you, too, particularly if it is a valuable cd. He tried to scam me.

Hahaha, I just saw a ton of listings from that Nine guy and some negative feedback for fake presses. Does he have good machine/equipment to make those?

I have some bad sellers:

keepmusicandcdsalive (ebay) - sold a mac dre CD as like new - had some scratches on it pretty bad, probably in good condition. When I told him about it he was nice and offered a free CD next time I bought from him, but he hasn't listed again.

707garfield (ebay) - listed a CD as Good - thing was scratched beyond belief. Probably the most scratched CD I ever seen that still played in my truck without skipping. Was dirt cheap so I made no issue of it, but yikes.

jaynasmedia - (ebay) - probably the worst seller ever. Sent a promo CD with water damage, advertised as "like new" when I emailed her, she didn't respond, filed a claim, she became a real bitch and then wished death on my parents and foreclosure on my home. Avoid at all costs.

gerow6891 (half/ebay) - ordered CDs, never shipped, finally got a refund.

haletbone (half/ebay) - advertised CD specifically without ANY scratches - sent CD with 20 scratches, no response to email, filed half.com claim and got a refund

t-money-44 (half/ebay) - order CD, never shipped, finally got a refund.

skimbaddle (amazon) - ordered CD 2 weeks ago, no shipment, no refund yet, filing claim

DK Squared Enterprise (amazon) - sent scratched promo CD - had to file a claim for a refund

Gohastings (amazon or direct) - generally is utter shit in quality. Some are flawless, some are scratched as shit, they list everything as Like New - my general policy is order through amazon because they refund with the quickness there. Buying direct it takes WEEKS to get any service and it is shit service.

Strangemusic online - utter shit customer service, overpriced CDs, and uttershit customer service. Tech is never getting my money direct again.

I believe he must have stocked up from Japan somewhere, at some stage, a lot of them cds come from there. I have accidently fallen into his trap once, but I also have bought 1 other legit cd from him too. He likes to mix it all up together haha. Hey SRP, how many claims can you do on one Amazon account, cos I remember when I signed up years ago, it said you only get 5 lifetime claims. I think my next credit card I will start a brand new account cos I estimate I must only have one claim left at most, and I don't wanna get caught out somewhere if something bad happens, like purchasing from ol' Derrick.

Thanks SRP and Acrid for your input, I have updated the list. If anyone thinks I should change/remove/add any of the descriptions next to a seller name let me know.

I have also added for Amazon,

Village Music World, sold me a cd as Brand New Factory sealed, when I got it I could tell it was a resealed item, opened it and the disc was significantly scratched, good condition at most. They offered for me to send it back for a refund which I didn't and don't usually bother to do, since I am international.

j_kokjohn, sold me a cd advertised as Very Good, however, it was scratched ALL over, like it had been used as a drink coaster for the last 5 years, and it didn't have the rear artwork which was not noted anywhere. Got no responses from him and filed a claim.

Ah, I saw him with a Big 50 CD and some other ones.

Here is one I will just add as a be careful, but don't necessarily avoid:

Cashflow420 (amazon/ebay): He is generally a cool dude, has his own label and sells a ton of rare rap music and other CDs. I had an issue with him a few years back, we argued over the condition of a Mac Dre CD - he said like new, it looked more like good to me, I wanted a refund, he wanted me to pay return shipping for a refund. I let it go, but left a neutral, he blocked me from buying! Years later I asked him to unblock me since I wanted to purchase some CDs from him, he did so nicely and just asked me to not leave negative or neutral as he worked hard for his feedback. I bought some CDs from him, new sealed, dirt cheap. he shipped them fast but I he put no padding so 7 CDs stuffed into a paper priority envelope meant 6 broken cases! one of them even broke and tore into the insert on one of the CDs! So given the price and service I don't care, but if you order from him you might make a specific point of asking for padding in the package.

Thanks SRP, have added Cashflow420. I remember years ago I bought something from him. I think it was only one cd, which was sealed so he sent it in a padded envelope, so no problem on my transaction.

I have also added to Amazon, RecordCollectorMichigan

They sold me a promo cd (gold stamped front artwork etc.) and did not note it in their advertisement. Can't remember if I contacted them about it or not. Charged me 15 bucks for the cd though.

People always file a claim and pay with a credit card. Get your money back come hell or high water.

I can't remember the a-holes name but I bought a DVD like in July and didn't get the shit until like late august and that was after numerous contacts. MOFO sent me the wrong shit! I demanded the right ish and recall the wrong one. They had the nerve to want me to pay to send it back and they fucked up. They told me I could keep it and get my refund. Didn't hear ish for weeks. I'm like dudes where's my money? They tried dodging me so I raised hell and all the demons of the abyss on they ass. I don't know how I did it but I figured out who their supplier was and started bitching to them. Surprise surprise the artful dodger started contacting me again. They eventually buckled and Western Unioned my skrilla. However by then I caused them to lose their supplier effectively squelching their business. Didn't get my money until November. However to do that it takes righteous indignation and stamina.

Never give up until you get the money or have caused them some serious STRESS!

If someone wants to do one there's nothing stopping them but how many ppl here slang on ebay and is it worth it would be the question. I used to sell a bit on there and plan to in the future again at some stage.

It's my regular outlet. With ebay it depends on what you're selling and interest in said item.

I personally try to stick with rare and popular items. I leave lukewarm alone because you only make money selling in bulk with stuff like that.
