| powell, how are you gonna say stupid shit like that and then flip out when someone says brand nubian only has one good album. Have you listened to any of canibus' features/group work? rip the jacker? for whom the beat tolls?????
and you think papoose and big noyd are even comparable, really? yeah he has no clothing lines or anything like that, but his impact as a lyricist is undeniable, and one could argue brand nubian had no impact or influence as well. |

| Steve he's impacted very few man....
Canibus has hot lyrics for days and days and days and days....SO WHAT
for those that think Brand Nubian only has one hot album, I just laugh man
For Whom The Bells Tolls was 4 stars IMO
Rip The Jacker was 4 stars too
Canibus is K-Rino north bound...hot lyrics...no beats...wack voice...decent flow

| Brand Nubian has one classic then the rest are 3.5-4 star albums in everybody else's book but yours...i think you are letting your hatred of the new school/his beef with LL really sour you on a dope artist man, especially since he's one of the few talking about advancement of the black man and metaphysical topics, not rims and drugs and hos. |

| Brand Nubian has two classics
One For All-5 stars In God We Trust-5 stars (go listen to that one again Steve, I'm sure you would love it)
Everything Is Everything-4 stars Foundation-4.5 stars
I've never really liked Canibus's voice nor flow all that much man...but I do respect his lyrical skills...
I wasn't overly impressed with Rip The Jacker like that and those beats need some fuckin help man...lol, his lyrics saved that album and brought it up to 4 stars....

| With all of Canibus' lyrical ability, I still had to think a minute before voting top 100, and I used to be a big Canibus listener. But the bottom line is, that's all he does, he writes lyrics, and will recite them whenever a microphone is placed in front of his face. He seems to have absolutely zero ability when it comes to making music. Maybe even zero interest. I can completely understand someone voting neither. Maybe I should have voted neither too.

| Keep believing that bullshit Slang...lol
I've already been through this before...I love Ras Kass's lyrical skills but he's not in my top 100 of all-time and neither is K-Rino nor Canibus..
I base my shit on more than only lyrical skills although that does count for something too...
Lil Wayne and Jeezy are not in my top 400 of all-time my dude so kill that....lol

| Impact is a factor fellas whether you like it or not, it is not the only factor but it is real. I voted top 100 due to his lyricism alone and he did make a small impact when he came out. I think he pushed the evelope for outlandish/strong metaphor lyricism again in the mainstream. |

| i base for something on a lot more than lyrical skills too
Canibus usually always outshines any rapper hes on a track with, he has 3 good albums, and i actually like his voice/flow i can see why you dont, but even with all that said id put him in near the end of the top 100 for some of the reasons Jason mentioned
Also, Ras Kass is better than Canibus IMO

Hey man you gotta love this guy...LMAO working with Wyclef equals IMPACT and INFLUENCE that means that Cormega who worked with Nas has some of the same qualities... same thing for Nature.... Big Noyd in da building( he worked with Mobb Deep) how about Drag-On....I mean he worked with DMX...lol so far Chemistry has flown over his head and you can add impact and influence to that list too..lol

| Powell, just curious, why dont you ever take into account impact on UNDERGROUND hip hop? That is a sub-genre of hip-hop in itself just like east coast, west coast, etc, etc. Canibus' impact on the underground hip-hop scene has been astronomical and can be analogous to say, Kurupt/Dogg Pound's influence on West Coast hip hop, yet it doesnt seem you take this into account. Canibus' influence on that specific sub-genre of hip-hop has been huge and that can not be denied | |

| top 100, he's an amazing lyricist, but a few missteps on a few albums puts him in 100. | |

| I do take it into account Slang but I'll be real man...if your a thriving "underground" artist then more than likely you will never make my top 100 hip-hop acts of all-time because you won't have enough impact nor influence to be there
you may be nasty on the mic like Canibus but if no one's ever heard of you then your impact is very small...
I know Canibus has his base of fans but he's not making the top 100 hip-hop acts of all-time for me man...plus he needs to work with some better producers as well....his beats put me to sleep...lol

| I like him as a lyricist, but I'm gonna have to vote neither based on his sub-par discography (save for Rip The Jacker and 2000 BC) and the fact that he allowed LL, Wyclef, and later Eminem to make a complete mockery of his career in which he never fully recovered.
I know I'm gonna get grilled to hell for this decision, but I'm used to it so whatever. |

I agree that Brand Nubian only has one classic, but that's one more than Canibus has. In God We Trust and Foundation are both 4.5 star albums IMO. |

| Lyrically with no instrumental Canibus could be argued for the #1 spot in any battle. Add a beat and song behind is rhymes and he's #1,000,000,000. |
