yea Everlast is hip hop, but hes also done other genres. He's a multi-dimensional artist who has been successful in different genres, not all of his stuff is hip hop but for the purpose of these threads Everlast is (at least part) hip hop artist

KJ, please explain to me the major differences between Everlast's career path compared to Kid Rock. Their career paths are so similar that it's scary. Yet, Kid Rock is a definitive no, and he's compared to Fred Durst. Everlast on the other hand is a no brainer? Really? Which of the two artists did a cover version of Johnny Cash on their most recent album?

Well, Everlast came in as a hip-hop artist and still does hip-hop with La Coka Nostra. He just dips into other genres as well. Kid Rock came in as hip hop, failed at it (other than DJ'ing) and then turned to rock and country because that's what he was better at. While Kid Rock has some hip-hop roots, he no longer does hip-hop music whereas Everlast still does.

Both of these statements are so far from the truth. I wouldn't call what Everlast did dipping in other genre's, and Kid Rock is working on hip hop music still. He's working on a 3 disc album with a whole disc dedicated to hip hop. so I'm not seeing a huge difference other than Everlast's success as an mc compared to Kid Rock's. Have you heard Grits Sandwiches for Breakfast, Early Mornin Stoned Pimp, or The Polyfuze Method? Hell, Devil Without A Cause had plenty of hip hop elements.
