I think an otherwise good artist will show support to other artists who might suck simply because they are just glad to see somebody else getting money.
Other than that, nothing is wrong with hip hop. It does kill me when vets endorse crappy artists (Krs one and Soulja boy), but I guess they are just handing down the crown they once held to the next generation.
Each generation had their Kid N plays, Vanilla Ices, and other artists that just want to make people dance. It's just their turn to do the same.
Yes, hip hop has become a bit watered down on the mainstream level. I think it's because hip hop has become a world wide phenomenon, and has a very wide audience. Therefore, artists cross over and make it hard for new listeners to be able to tell the difference between what's considered real hip hop vs hip pop.The same thing happened with rock, so why should we all be surprised?
