Scarface has this on lock. It's really just a battle for the #2 spot IMO.

Hell yeah whats not to like about that album? I mean really. I think I only skip two trks maybe on that album. Chrisma, talent, and dope beats can carry albums a long way imo.

That album was a personal classic to me when it first dropped honestly.

I only read the first and last pages, but how has nobody mentioned 2Pac????

Dear Mama being entered into the library of congress makes him only the third rapper to make it in, along with Grandmaster Flash and PE. The Vatican put him in one of their top 12 songs, the only rapper to do so. Then we have his unparalled discog, with possible objective ratings in parentheses:

2Pacalypse Now (4-5)
Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z. (4-4.5)
Me Against the World (5)
All Eyez on Me (4.5-5)
Don Kiluminati : The 7 Day Theory (4.25-5)
R U Still Down? (Remember Me) (4-4.5)
Until the End of Time (4-4.5)
Better Dayz (3.5-4.25)
Loyal to the Game (3)
Pac's Life (2.5-3)
Thug Life: Volume 1 (4-4.5)
Still I Rise (4-4.75)
The five new tracks on his Greatest Hits (5)

Now Loyal to the Game and Pac's Life are definite stains, but those are people screwing up his legacy trying to make money off him. I don't consider either of them official Pac albums. But either way, he is definitely top 5 with that discog.

I think Pac was left off because he only has 5 true albums, and only 1(maybe 2) is a consensus classic. I agree with Pac's inclusion though.

What up Steve?? good to see you back my dude

I remember your love for Pac but IMO he should not be mentioned here....his discog is not strong enough...you've given him some very high ratings IMO on a bunch of his stuff...that stuff released after he passed does not count for me whether it was good or bad....it didn't have Pac's input (not due to his own fault of course) but he had no say on those projects.....as for the other ones:

2Pacalypse Now (4 stars)
Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z. (4 stars)
Me Against the World (5 stars)
All Eyez on Me (3 stars)
Don Kiluminati : The 7 Day Theory (4.75-5 stars)

thats what I have them rated for the ones in which he had some input...in terms of he gave his signature on these while he was still alive

to me his discog is just not strong enough when you look at it like this IMO!

My five might not necessarily be the greatest in the eyes of just about every member but are my favorite five.

People Under The Stairs (I bet only 2 people here have heard their whole collection)
Tribe
Outkast
Del
Eric B & Rakim (excluding Rakim's solo albums)

Lupe Fiasco's discography is most certainly top 5 all time. He's just a genius the way he sounds so smart to simple folks and always jocks a smooth ass radio beat.

He even wrote a song about not dumbing down so his fans could defend him when people point out he's really just not that deep.

I just love him so much, I have a Lupe poster in almost every room in my house. He's such an inspiration to always work hard and never sell out. And, he's living proof that Intro to Lit is not a waste of time, because entry level writing techniques will always impress most people!

Not to play Devil's Advocate because i see your point, but wouldn't you agree that someone chopping up and re-working Pac's unreleased material is different that Columbia releasing Nas' songs in their original form(at least i think the songs were in their original form)?

Look, all I know is that Nas didn't promote the album, he didn't have anything to do with the album, and he chose not to release them at the time they were recorded. Counting this as an album is suspect to me. Yes, it's different than the Pac stuff, obviously, but to me Nas had his chance to release those as an album and didn't. Columbia saw what they had and did the right thing. It's a Columbia album, not a Nas album IMO.

Just to make things easier for the old timer. 4+4+5+3+4.75=20.75. 20.75/5=4.15
