KRS One Spiritual Minded...

KRS takes a step farther down the rabbit hole and completely sheds the persona that made him so endearing to the New School fans and pushes the hypocrisy up a notch to alienate the old school heads that grew up on Criminal Minded. Lyrics? Sure, but they're mostly just contradicting everything dude said for the first decade of his career, and not just about violence and everything else. Religion was a big target for KRS back in the beginning. Remember "You wouldn't be a Christian if you're slave owner wasn't Christian"? Now we get "Elijah Muhammad never came back from the dead". I get it, your God is more pety than mine. What's worse? Beats by DJ Tine Tim, KRS himself (not bad crica 1988-1994, but now it's just getting REALLY played out, update your style, KRS, Dre did it, Quik did it, etc etc etc) and not even Domingo seems to care about giving this album good instros. But by far the worst offense of this album is naming it Spritual Minded, even trying to compare it Criminal Minded...just fucking awful.

I never heard this, but it did sound horrid. I think even the stans would not call this good.

I would in fact not call it good.

Lol I read some comment on a video on youtube that this music was the Gospel of Hip Hop and its religion for the new generation. Didn't know people followed KRS that seriously.

This is a good thread idea. Never heard this, though.

LOL....this is one of the few outright duds in Kris's entire catalog...but he was attempting to take this in another direction the problem is that it didn't work!
