The negative influence of southern rap Alf10

Alf says: "I remember when my sitcom was doing well and Hip Hop was raw as hell! I don't know what happened. Somehow people didn't think an Alien living with a White suburban family wasn't interesting anymore. I know well-to-do White families adapting Black ghetto orphans weren't hot anymore either. I had it all. T-shirts. skateboards, and even a video game. ToeJam and Earl came out with a video game that was very similar to mine! They are biters! 2 emo aliens tryna be hip hop! I blame TJ and Earl for the death of hip hop. They were both gay"

This article is horseshit. West coast, anybody? MC Shan? Schooly D? There were always misogynistic elements to hip-hop.

Rolling Stones? Chuck Berry? Bill Broonzy? Robert Johnson? There has always been misogynistic elements in American music, period.

Dinah Washington? Billie Holiday? Bessie Smith? Foxy and Kim didn't invent that image, either. It seems more drastic because the context of times had evolved, but those women were considered inappropriate tramps in their day. And they liked it that way.

I love how the writer downplayed the influence of the East and West. And they didn't bring up other contributing social factors to the current state of youth.

Unwed Mothers tend to have more children. Children of unwed mothers are less likely to wed themselves and are more likely to have more children. The more children you have the less individual attention/instruction you can give each child. And odds are if you have so many children you have a lower level of self-restraint and you lack the ability to choose good stable partners (otherwise you'd have one). And the more children you have the less likely you are to attract prime candidates. You teach your children your bad habits actively and inactively. You can't teach your children to be a good partner or how to find a good partner so they make the same mistakes. However if you have multiple children then you have multiple people making the same mistake creating even more people doing the same thing. This is not set in stone but it's obviously a contributing factor. Right now we're looking at a lot of kids who were born into these situations. A lot of this mess started in the Drug Era. People who are stable tend to have fewer children and so now what was once an anomaly has become the norm due to sheer numbers.
