PostSubject: Top 5 albums released in 1995   Wed 04 Aug 2010, 8:37 am

95 was my favorite year in hip hop, so this one is going to be an admitted challenge to name a top 5, but I'll try anyway!

Raekwon- Only Built 4 Cuban Linx (my #2 favorite album of all time behind Illmatic)
Genius/GZA- Liquid Swords
Mobb Deep- The Infamous
Smif N Wessun- Dah Shinin

I have to do this for number 5. That spot would go to both Pac's Me Against The World and Dogg Pound's Dogg Food, respectively.

OMG Honorable Mention
Bone Thugs N Harmony- E. 1999 Eternal
AZ- Doe Or Die
KRS-One- KRS-One
Das Efx- Hold It Down
Fat Joe- Jealous One's Envy
Goodie Mob- Soul Food
Grand Puba- 2000
LL Cool J- Mr. Smith
Ol Dirty Bastard- Return To The 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version
Naughty By Nature- Poverty's Paradise
Onyx- All We Got Iz Us
The Show Soundtrack
Eightball & MJG- On Top Of The World

Hot damn, what a year this was!!!!!

Yo Powell props for listing that Ol Dirty album in your top 5. Folks get so caught up in 36 Chambers, OB4CL, and Liquid Swords that that one gets over looked I feel. Its a personal classic to me.

As Fabolous would say, there is no competition, 88 was a good year, but it's overrated by those who don't know better. 1995 was hip-hop's pinnacle year easily.
