| It is plain ridiculous to have honorable mentions. It's SUPPOSED to be hard to name your top 5. Posting more than than 5 is a cop out, plain and simple. |

| I agree. I think the real task is narrowing it down to 5. I think people should just be honest. It would also help for people to explain their picks. Add to the discussion. I mean we can make assumptions about why you picked something, but it'd be nicer if we knew from your own words. |

| I don't have a problem with the honorable mentions. All that is doing is showin love to what the poster feels are the dopest albums of the year. It doesn't take away from their Top 5. |

| I feel where you guys are coming from but most people list their top 5. So its not like they are just listing one big list most have clearly stated their top 5. But with powerful yrs like 91-96 you can't help but feel the need to list others that could easily slide in that top 5 with deeper thought maybe. |

| Yeah, I see both sides... and I doubt steve's petition will get much support.... but I think his problem is less with the honorable mention than with the 6 or 7 album top 5s... but at least we aren't getting top 15s as a top 5. |

| i like the idea of explaining each of the top 5 picks. Then it really shows you narrowed it down, if they are explained the honorable mentions wouldnt take away from them as much, but i like Steve and SRP's ideas | |

| That's why I try to limit mine. 3 or less, and that's mainly to big-up albums I love that probably aren't Top 5 material. | |
