ok here is a good example. You call this album classic, hence it is 5 stars in your mind. Therefore, you are saying that Liquid Swords is not superior to this album because they are both 5 stars. Thats ludicrous.

Who says a classic album has to be 5 stars? To me, a classic album is just that shit that hits right every time...there may be a track or two you can do without, but the vibe is on point.

You start thinking about a classic album and you just know you're gonna have to listen to it as soon as possible.

You've memorized damn near every verse on a classic album, and you even rap with that shit when nobody's around...because it's fun and you can tell them mofos had a good time making it in the first place.

A classic album comes up on your ipod and youstop that shit to turn off shuffle and listen straight through.

All that shit matters more to me than a petty points system.

i agree with everything you said completely, but to people like KJ and others when they say classic they mean 5 stars, and i know he rates this 5 stars. So if he can really say this 5 star album is on the same level as Liquid Swords than thats ridiculous but if both these albums are rated at 5 stars, Liquid Swords is CLEARLY superior

I hear ya. I think the number of classics far outweighs the number of 5 star albums though. Personally, I don't give very many albums 5 stars, but there seems to be many posters that hand out 5 star ratings like it's candy on Halloween. Not literally or anything, just I think they're being way too generous with that rating.

As I said before, personal preference is what separates how classic albums rank on you list.

I like Liquid Swords better, but Grandmasters is an all time fav to me as well. Both albums are 5 star classics though.
