vs.

Two different but parallel groups imo. They both have one true spitter that everyone ranks highly. Both have a member who produces the majority of their albums and rap in the grp also. They almost have the exact same amount of official albums. Both are hardcore but had some mainstream success.

Too Hard To Swallow vs. Juvenile Hell
Ridin Dirty vs. The Infamous
Murda Muzik vs. Underground Kingz
Hell On Earth vs. Super Tight
Dirty Money vs. Amerikaz Nightmare
UGK 4 Life vs. The Infamy

Producer Wise
Havoc or Pimp C

Best Rapper
Prodigy or Bun B

Are both top 10 grps of all time for you?

Shook Ones II vs. Murder

Wow, this was a good idea for a thread...

Too Hard To Swallow vs. Juvenile Hell.......Too Hard To Swallow
Ridin Dirty vs. The Infamous.........Ridin Dirty
Murda Muzik vs. Underground Kingz..........Underground Kingz
Hell On Earth vs. Super Tight..............Hell on Earth
Dirty Money vs. Amerikaz Nightmare.................Dirty Money
UGK 4 Like vs. The Infamy..........Push

Producer Wise
Havoc or Pimp C...........Pimp C

Best Rapper
Prodigy or Bun B.............Prodigy

Are both top 10 grps of all time for you?...............Absofuckinlutely

Shook Ones II vs. Murder...............Shook Ones II (One of the best of all time)

It really hurts to have to pick a best rapper in this one but I had to give the nod to Prodigy, Bun B has as many good verses, but more wack verses. I've always liked Havoc on the boards but he's nowhere near Pimp C in production, IMO. Then again, dem Country Rap Tunes is what we like Down in the Souf, lol. I would have picked Diamonds and Wood against Shook Ones II, though. Either way, my vote would have been the same.

"I got you stuck off the realness/
We be the Infamous, you heard of us/
Official Queensbridge murderas/"............So fuckin dope.

Too Hard To Swallow vs. Juvenile Hell
Ridin Dirty vs. The Infamous
Murda Muzik vs. Underground Kingz
Hell On Earth vs. Super Tight
Dirty Money vs. Amerikaz Nightmare
UGK 4 Life vs. The Infamy

Producer Wise
Havoc or Pimp C- Close but I give that one to Havoc

Best Rapper
Prodigy or Bun B- Prodigy all day. He's better solo than Bun is.

Are both top 10 grps of all time for you? Neither of them are, Mobb Deep used to be but they've since fallen off that list. Both are in my Top 15 though.

Shook Ones II vs. Murder- My two fav songs from both groups. I gotta go with Shook Ones Pt II, but Murder would probably win for me against any other Mobb song besides that or Eye For An Eye.

Dirty Money vs. Amerikaz Nightmare
UGK 4 Life vs. The Infamy - but not by much.

Producer Wise
Havoc or Pimp C- I prefer Hav beats just a tad.

Best Rapper
Prodigy or Bun B- Would have been Prod back in his prime but Bun has been way more consistant over the years.

Are both top 10 grps of all time for you? Yes.

Shook Ones II vs. Murder

And Mobb is a top 5 fav of mine and UGK is top 10 music wise. Individual artists wise i'll take Bun & Pimp over both memebers of Mobb Deep.

I don't think Bone Thugs, 3-6 Mafia, or the Outlawz are as good as UGK (especially not the latter two) but The Roots fuckin SLAUGHTER them. I'd also take Brand Nubian over them too. Goodie Mob is on par with them.

Brand nubian seriously sucks in comparison. their albums don't hold up, their careers don't hold up... their longevity didn't hold up. sadat and puba are shells of their former selves... bun is still the same elite emcee... add the fact pimp c was a classic producer as well... no question...it's a delusion to think brand nub is in the same hemisphere or planet as UGK.

Now, I do agree with some of these points. Without saying that Sadat and Puba are shells of their former selves, Brand Nubian will always be known for the classic "One For All" album, as well as classic singles like "Punks Jump Up To Get Beat Down" and "Don't Let It Go To Your Head", however, they're nowhere near as legendary or on the same "playing field" as UGK. I'm a fan of both though.

Not sure I agree with all that (I did like Puba's last effort a lot).

But I agree in no way shape or form is Brand Nubian better. UGK is killin' it...as is Bun B.

Bun B is cool for white people and Mexicans only. Hence the 2 votes only.

lol

UGK is just far more entertaining to me. I can throw on a UGK CD anytime and enjoy it. Any album. Mobb Deep is hit and miss with me. I always felt their first 2 were classic, but now I rarely grab for their CDs anymore. UGK just has way more style IMO....

I just think you prefer UGK - Mobb is pretty abrasive and might be too brash for you.
