Not trying to take away focus, if you will, from the thread going on about KRS and True Master's album, but I wanted to begin a thread on this classic. This is my favorite KRS solo album, and it remains my favorite solo from him. Your thoughts, ratings, etc.

Better than the True Master album, still not as good as anything he did in BDP.

I haven't heard the True Master album but I'm sure this is better than that. This is my favorite KRS solo album.

As for the BDP albums, I'd say that Boom Bap is better than Sex & Violence but that's about it.

I can see why someone would prefer his self titled solo more, but even then the gap isn't that big.

Personally I prefer Boom Bap but both are classics IMO.

"This is my favorite KRS solo album, and it remains my favorite solo from him"

? lol, that last part was unecessary.

"KRS-One>>>>>>>>>>>>>Boom Bap"

I used to feel that way, but my rankings have changed recently. And, this is better than a couple of BDP albums, haters.

I agree KJ. By All Means Necessary is my 2nd fav behind Criminal Minded. KRS ONE is a classic but I still prefer Boom Bap. I can't fault Kev for saying that he prefers it better though.
