Interesting question about a song from Nice & Smooth. Now, I don't know the name, however, I know the song when I hear it. I remember it was released in 1994, and I used to hear the songs on mix shows (via my local radio stations) quite often, but the DJ never played the entire song. He only played the first few minutes, cutting and scratching, and then moving on to the next song. The part that he would play, cut, and scratch in the beginning, it's from Greg Nice and he said......
"Nice & Smooth is back with anotha hit, Nice & Smooth is back with anotha hit"
That's the ONLY thing I can recall, and to this day, I don't know the name of the song nor have I heard the full version of it. Anyone know what song I'm referring to? It may have came from the "Jewel Of The Nile" album. (I know I should already know this, but still, lol.)
lol, you will - it's a dope dope song... def jam even named a compilation after it. I have been bumping this since 1994 - can't believe you slept on this wayniac.

Oh no SRP, I didn't sleep on it at all, lol.

I think that's it Pedro. If I'm correct the singles from that album were "Old To The New" & "Return Of The Hip Hop Freaks". I had the cassette back in '94.

I remember Old To The New and another song called "Blunts".

That's all I can think of, but the part you're talking about would be at the end, not the beginning.
The one I'm talking about is definitely at the beginning. I appreciate you and SRP for researching though.
Not a problem. I'm not an expert on Nice & Smooth, though they are dope. I just don't have too much familiarity with them.
But, I hate when that stuff happens to me. Happened the other day in fact, I had a few lines pop in my head, and I was trying to remember where I heard it from...then I figured out it was Snowgoons, and had to scour my cd's to find the track. Then I listened to it for like 45 minutes straight, and problem solved.

Yeah, I hope I'm able to find this song though.

I will keep my ears peeled. Can't let it dominate my time though.
These guys are the shit. Notice their distict vioces and style. They don't make em like they used to
Word that...a great group is where you have two differently styled MC's who compliment each other. One where you could debate if either of them are better than the other.

Yeah I love Nice N Smooth. Ain't A Damn Thing Changed is a classic and their other albums range from 3.5 to 4.5 stars.
And Wayne, that had to be the song. That's the only Nice N Smooth song I can think of with that beginning to it. Maybe you're thinking of a remix of that song, but otherwise that's gotta be it.

Forgive us Wayne, but all you remember is one sentence out of a whole song... you don't even remember the hook... so you assertions of what it WASN'T don't hold much weight.

That's mainly because the DJ @ the time didn't play the entire song, and since then I haven't heard the full version. I can only go by what I remember, lol.
If he didn't play the entire song how are you so sure he didn't just use the words and/or verses from different songs?
It wasn't the words and/or verses from different songs. I'm positive it wasn't a blend. This had to have been an actual song.
I'm guessing that the DJ was Funkmaster Flex, he's notorious for that bullshit (not playing entire songs). That said, if he didn't play the whole track then what you heard was likely this track with a different beat. Just sayin.

Naw, it wasn't Flex. This was a local DJ (I believe his name was DJ Drake) doing one of the normal mix shows on a popular radio station at the time.

It's not funkmaster flex.. that's called mixing in general. All radio DJs do it. They play like a hook and a verse or two and next song comes in.
