Sad that you bring this up, my favorite just died in a car accident, his daughter was driving. RIP Robert Schimmel. Louie is my 2nd favorite tho, good call Lundquist.

Sorry to hear that man. I've never heard of Robert Schimmel, but I'll definitely look up some of his stuff.

If you're a Louie fan, you'll be a Schimmel fan. I've been a fan of both since the mid 90's, got to see Schimmel live in Vegas a few years back hung over as a mofo, stomach all bubbling and I still laughed my ass off.

That sounds like it was hilarious. I've got his HBO special loading on youtube right now. Thanks for the suggestion. I'm always looking for new (to me), funny stand-ups. It's sad that he passed though. I already know I'm going to be really bummed about it if I like him as much as we think I will.

Right on, Unprotected or The newest one, I think it's called Life Since Then? Any way I'm out, I'll check back tomorrow to see what you thought.

It was Unprotected. It was really funny especially the bit about pre ejac. Louis is still my favorite, but I'm going to continue to explore Schimmel's stuff.

Not really familiar with a lot o american stand up acts other than the obvious ones like rock and murphy.
Chapelle is fukn great tho, they used to air his show late at night on one o the local stations here. remember a skit about some wu tang bank. Lol
Dave....DAVE, its the goddamn cops,,,,, I'm gonna ask them for directions, Chip no!!! Don't do it!!!
Wahaha, I've heard that skit a hundred times, still makes me laugh my balls off..
Other than that just local acts like barry hilton or leon shuscter.

Unprotected is the funniest of the HBO specials, but you got to throw it back to the late 80's early 90's sets to get Roberts funniest bits. Boet funny you just bring up Chapelle, I think he's a f'n riot as well. My buddy was in Vegas this weekend for his brothers bachelor party and ran in to Dave and pix messaged me with the photo op. of the two of them. Dave's show was the best on TV at the time, way too talented to still be on the sidelines.

I used to always peep Carlos Mencia when he was in his prime. Went to a show in one of his tours and laughed my ass off. I like Gabriel Iglesias too, don't watch much of his stuff but when I do it's hilarious. IMO its hard to find real funny comedians now a day. Either that or the ones I see on Comedy Central just suck.
Esco, look into Bill Burr and Rogan...that shit will certainly get you laughing. I cosign most of the comedians mentioned, I was just focusing on who's producing now. Bill Hicks is another one from the past.

Joe Rogan? A friend of mine told me he was funny but... I was like, the Fear Factor Guy? NAhhhh.
I'm really not sure what you're aware of??? I've seen him in about 4 or 5 specials from the late 80's/early 90's....and everytime I saw him dude was funny to me....
I guess the bottomline is if your not feeling him like that then that's all good too...but I thought his humor was crude and he was funny as hell.....
good mention with George Carlin as well Myestro....that was another really funny dude

KJ mentioned him first, but thanks. He's been my favorite for a long while, so even if nobody else mentioned him, I would.

Good look Krob with DC Curry.
Some of my favorite's are:
Redd Foxx Richard Pryor (the greatest ever) Dave Chappelle George Carlin Chris Rock Eddie Murphy Robin Williams (he's made me cry more than a few times) DL Hughley Bernie Mac
That's all I got for now.

Louis CK Zach Galifiankis (awesome stand-up before he was "the fat guy form the Hangover") David Cross Norm MacDonald Patrice O'Neal Patton Oswalt Dave Chappelle Marc Maron Ricky Gervais Craig Robinson Chris Rock Bo Burnham
Gervais is dope but he's only done that one special.
My favorite stand up by far is Christopher Titus, but I also like
Carlin Pryor Rock Chapelle Rogan Cross Greg Giraldo mitch hedburg
How has no one mentioned Seinfeld?
DL Hughely and Carlos Mencia are both funny but they both steal 50% of their material.
I fail to see the big deal about Bill Burr...also Patton Oswalt and Zack Gilifinakis just don't do it for me.
Tosh and Silverman are both hilarious when they're "on" but also have some really stupid shit in there. The only "redneck" comedian I like is Joe Caparulo because I've never heard him make racist jokes and he's actually funny without resorting to spouting stupid ass catchphrases.

I haven't heard any Titus stand-up. I remember really liking his show on Fox, and I just heard him on Marc Maron's WTF podcast a couple weeks ago. He was funny on there. I'll have to check some of his stuff out.
Patton's comedy is geared towards those with nerdier sensibilities (comic books, anything that starts with Star, etc.), and Galifianakis is just an absurdist, again not for everyone.
I've never been a huge Seinfeld fan. I don't think he's all that funny really. Like even his show, (which I really like) was funny mostly because of Larry David's involvement and the stellar cast. imo of course.
Co-sign your statements on Tosh and Silverman.

How can you even enjoy Burr when half of his material mocks every belief you have?

I mean, he's not voting on bills or giving the sheep their "news"... he's a comedian. His jokes are great and he has the best presentation going. I don't really feel the need to harmonize with my comedy on an intellectual level. Funny's funny.
Anyway, I don't really disagree with him all that often. A few of the views he's expressed on his or Rogan's podcast. But, I can't think of anything in his act. Maybe I'm wrong about that. Were you thinking of anything specific?
If you haven't seen/heard Rogan's podcast you should check it, Jeff. Especially when Duncan Trussell or Joey Diaz guest.

I'm not big on podcasts, but I'll see if I have time to check them ut sometime.
I was just thinking that I wouldn't want to listen to a Christian comedian stand up and mock soembody for being an athiest, because I don't think I could find it funny. I've only heard a little bit of Bill Burr, but the one bit I remember was him mocking conspiracy theorists, and it came off to me as more common sense, mocking weird people, than a comedy bit.

That was a segue into his Hitler bit. Check out a full hour, I think you'll feel differently. He does not represent Christianity in any way. In fact, he has targeted organized religion a few times.
