Class warfare is very hip hop. I find a lot of support for "the ignorant mainstream as propaganda" in Chomsky's theories.
I know what you're saying, though. I was just getting into these and I thought some folk around here might appreciate.

It's just not the same. Not even close. Total bubblegum horseshit. They showed a lot of potential, but completely abandoned this type of sound.
When Alan first turned me on to Small Steps from Heiruspecs, GCH's early demos came immediately to mind.

This clip is from about '94 (?) i think. The unity is mind blowin'.
On a side note. Props to Arsenio Hall. People like to forget about his contributions to the talk show game.

Thanks bruh. I was shocked to run across that clip. I can't imagine seeing that kind of togetherness from today's so-called stars. Especially on a nightly talk show.
I saw that 1st one before...dope shit KJ. Can you imagine how whack a cipher like that may be with today's "hot" artists?
That shit brings back great memories for sure!
As for a cipher with today's "hot" artists. If you mean the top mainstream guys then I agree it'd be wack for the most part, but there's some cats who would sound hot.
Red unloaded on it! A couple lines from Double Or Nothing, but all in all he was way above the rest of em.
A couple things were pretty funny, like how Sermon stole Serch's spot, and Ed "get outta here, Flava".
I thought KRS had the best freestyle, but yeah Red was awesome. And Ed Lover cracked me up when he said that to Flav LMAO!!

Esco, if you favor more of the lyrical/East coast influenced sound...check out Sly Kat, Garcia, LMS, P.M., or Ghost Wridah..all from Miami. Some of the more traditionlly Southern Miami rappers that I like are C-Ride, Brisco, Dirt Bag, Ice Berg, Piccalo, 3re Tha Hardaway, and Zay.
