Closer than some think. I'll vote Rakim but I have no problem with the other result happening.

Paid In Full has more classic songs easily but E 1999 plays better as a album. Paid In Full plays like a collection of random songs imo.

I don't see that at all. In fact, I generally have thought that Paid In Full was one of the first hip-hop albums to show any sort of attempt to have a cohesive sound front to back. At least the first album to succeed at it.

I take it over Bone, either way.

Fuck sales, EVERY SINGLE PROFESSIONAL HIP-HOP POLL I've ever seen has Rakim rated as one of the Top 5 rappers of all time, many of them even had him as number one. When group polls come up, Bone isn't always ranked, and even when they were they weren't ranked as high as groups like Wu-Tang, PE, Run-DMC, Outkast, ATCQ, NWA, etc. I think the highest I've ever seen them ranked was 8th or so. Same goes with Paid In Full as compared to E1999. PIF is a consensus Top 10 album. I've never seen E1999 ranked even close to that high.

Rakim is a better lyricist, has a better flow, better discog, and more classic songs. You and this "biased against all 80's MC's from the East Coast" forum can disagree if you want, but outside of the Midwest and this forum more people prefer The God MC. You're fooling yourself if you think otherwise.

About.com has Rakim rated as the greatest MC of all time, Bone is the 12th best group of all time on their poll. The same site has Paid In Full as the 3rd best album of all time. E 1999 didn't even crack their Top 100.

MTV has Rakim rated as the 4th best rapper of all time. Bone did not make their Top 10 list. They also have Paid In Full rated as the best album of all time. E 1999 didn't make their Top 10 list on that either.

Paid In Full is a consensus 5 star classic. E 1999 only has two 5 star reviews to it's name, Rap Reviews and Q Magazine.

And let's not even go into legacy. Rakim is easily one of the most influential MC's of all time.

As far as sales go, Salt N Pepa have outsold Bone overall, yet you and the rest of the misoygnistic homos in this forum don't give them any props so GTFOH with that bullshit!!!!
