Best Album Of 1987 Round 1: Dana Dane With Fame vs. How Ya Like Me Now

How Ya Like Me Now is a well put together album. They combined the elctro disco-synth hip hop with the JB funk infused hip hop all on the same album.

Dana Dane was kind of gimmicky...Diet Slick Rick.

Dana Dane...I've never really been a big fan of Kool Moe Dee.

Y'all smokin something, Moe Dee wins this one going away. Dana Dane's album was dope but Moe Dee's was 100% classic and he was a much better spitter IMO.

Kool Moe Dee did much better work with The Treacherous Three then he did as a solo act IMO

Nightmares (which is an all-time classic single)
This Be The Def Beat
Cinderfella Dana Dane (an early classic concept song, told from the perspective of a male cinderella with the classic sample use included)
Delancey Street- (another classic story themed joint...kinda like Children's Story but it was released before that) him and Slick Rick borrowed that style from each other...they were part of the same crew growing up

all of those songs are better IMO then anything on the Kool Moe Dee album

I agree Powell. Those songs are the main reason I voted for him. Much more entertaining than most of the trks on that Moe Dee.

I respect your opinion but I disagree. I owned both of these on cassette back in the days, and personally I like Moe Dee's album better overall. Wild Wild West is a Top 100 song of all time for me and better than anything on Dane's album IMO. Both are great, but I prefer How Ya Like Me Now.

Very close, but I'm going to go with Kool Moe Dee. His best solo album IMO.
