| Thinking about getting back into gaming lately. Been fucking around with my old PS2 and planning on upgrading.
Which should I get? PS2 or 360? What are the advantages and disadvantages of each?

| I like Xbox better because I have one, and the Playstation controllers are too small. Playstation is probably a better investment, though. | |

| I regret not getting the PS3. I'm sure Sony's tech support trumps Microsoft's. Plus online play is free. Trust me...you'll use it. The only plus I can think of for XBox is Gears of War, which is considerable. | |

| Wii
I like games that I can sit down and play for 20 minutes. Not games that take me 20 minutes to set preferences/options for. You know....games a 7 year old can figure out.
my roommate does have a PS3 though. I use it all the time to play Blu Ray movies

| 360 if you like a better, wider selection of games.
PS3 if you are in it more for the hardware, as it doubles as a Blu-Ray player. The game selection is decidedly weaker though.

| PS3 easily........better gameplay, free online play, doubles as a Blue Ray player.
XBox has a wider variety of games, but most of the dopest games are also available on PS3, and Gran Turismo is a PS3 exclusive.

| I prefer the 360's selection, but I'm mostly into shooters and some RPG and horror games. PS3 has some cool sports and adventure games. It depends on what you want basically. | |

| PS3 if you are into the whole Blue Ray movement is certainly an advantage.
I've heard plenty of horror stories of how awful the PS3 online is. 360 surely beats it in that department. You pay for it so you get better service....
As for exclusives its a wash I suppose. They have Uncharted, Killzone (IIRC), and GT and we have Halo.
It also depends on what your friends have I suppose. Down here everyone has a 360.

| I think I'm going to get a PS3. The controller doesn't bother me because it doesn't look any different than the PS2's dual shock. I have been messing with Playstation ever since the original came out in the late 90's. So I'll probably stay loyal to it. To be honest with you, I just want to fuck with GTA IV LOL. Put me in the room with San Andreas and you will not see me for a month and I've been dying to try 4 ever since before it came out. Half says 360 is better on the shooters, which is my favorite type of game. So that kinda has me wanting to give the 360 a shot. Fuck, I don't know | |

| GTA 4 is nothing like San Andreas. It's completely scripted, takes all the fun out in my opinion. I would definitely rent it first. | |

1995? That's not late 90's, fool.
GTAIV is a gigantic step down from San Andreas and a step down from GTA3 and Vice City. Take away the graphics and it's not that good of a game, IMO

| Well whatever year lol.
That's disappointing about GTA4. It looks so damn cool from the clips I see on Youtube. But looks can be deceiving, I guess.

| Red Dead Redemption has the full-world creativity you're looking for. It completely parallels San Andreas in the fun department. | |

| Linker you won't go wrong either way so I say go by what helped me make my decision. What do most of your friends or circle have? Since more than likely you will be playing with friends you may want to get the one they have. No since in being the oddball.
Also 360 does have the better game selections and usually gets the most exclusives. But you do not have to pay for PS3 online so thats a big plus right there. The whole blu ray player aspect is overrated and doesn't really matter unless you are really into blu ray's.

| GT4 was a step down but it was still a good game. And I got bored with Red Dead but I plan to revisit it.
I would highly rec:
Borderlands Fallout 3 and New Vegas Call Of Duty Black Ops Dead Space 2

| Is the Dead Space franchise exclusive to XBox?
I would also agree that you want the same console your friends have. You'll get more out of it for sure. Machine to machine, though...i'd go Sony if I could go back. I'll be getting a PS3 soon, and my Xbox is going to cost me $125 to get working again.
