Paris kinda sucks

Alan doesn't like Dead Prez. Maybe cause its their "lets get free and kick some crakkka ass" attitude. He stated they dont know what they're talking about, but he likes Paris, which pretty much raps on the same lines as DP. Neither DP or Paris are really great rappers. But Paris sounds too 1991--a basic 91'. But PE's Apacalypse 91 sounds more futuristic than anything Paris did. Paris is cool rapping with PE, but on his own he's pretty mediocre. Ive heard Acid Reflux and it sounds like a 1991 Christian rap-pro-black hydrid of some sorts. Anyone feeling me?

Bullshit. You're deafer than me with an ear infection. Listen to Sonic Jihad, Sleeping With The Enemy and The Devil Made Me Do It and then tell me what you think of him.

I wouldn't say anything sucks about Paris. But I will say he uses the same tone and pace for damn near every song. The man sticks to his comfort zone and never leaves it. Its the gift & curse for him imo.

I think it's good for him. He sticks with what works for him and runs with it. And for the most part, I enjoy most of what he does.

Paris is not for everyone, but for the people that like him, he never disappoints.

Not really. I just don't think they are very good rappers....or writers. Never have. I disagree that Paris raps "the same lines as DP". At least not with the intellect and sheer thought that Paris puts forth. Paris is just plain smarter. Paris is thinking man's music.

Hold up Pounds....M1 and Stic.man especially could hang with Paris lyrically easily. Paris is a safer listen than dead prez to a degree though. Paris can go there also when he wants too. And don't try to downplay DP's music with those sly as comments. dead prez is thinking man's music also at least in my book.

Paris is a smart rapper and producer, I don't know how could he suck...his first two lp's are near-classics, and he resurrected Public Enemy helping them writing and producing Rebirth Of A Nation, their best cd in years.

Rebirth is an awesome CD

Yeah, their music does make you think, but not nearly as much as Paris' IMO. How is Paris even remotely close to being "safer"? Seems to me he spits harder truth and has far more lyrics bashing on whites. I recall several times on Paris records he just tore up whites; but he always makes very compelling points and arguments for his lyrics - he always brings it full circle. I just don't hear that train of thought with DP. At least that's the way I always heard it. But I do listen to far, far more Paris.
