Ya Boy - Kalifornia Konvict

Ya Boy's debut Mixtape Kalifornia Konvict is not bad, just listened to it a day ago. His first tape since signing to Konvict. Most of the tape is pretty good, he is not a bad rapper. Not sure how far he will go but Akon is pushing him hard at the moment, he will start more work with RedOne/Konvict and Cherrytree soon. The Mixtape had 12 tracks on it.

-Kalifornia Look Good, Cocania and Heavily Intoxicated were the best tracks. Ya Boy's delivery and flo on those tracks was almost perfect. Gucci killed Cocania, really added to it. I Am and Fuck U Rite were some ok tracks too. His colabo with Wiz Khalifa wasn't as good as I anticipated. Overall an ok Mixtape and expecting more great things from Ya Boy. I recomend you download or buy this I wasnt too disapointed in it.

I've always been a fan of Ya Boy. Haven't heard anything new in a few years, though.

If it's from the bay, I've noticed you tend to like the Fillmoe sound. I guess it started with the old Get Low Game records?

It does work, I remember a line from an E-40 verse, I think it was with 8-Ball or MJG or both. It said something to the effect of only working with a given artist because he wants their region being bullshit...but it really does work.
