Best Album 1991 Round 1: Skanless vs. Mr. Hood (B)

Haven't heard either but I just bought Mr. Hood and Black Bastards

MC Gusto all the way to the finish line.

I really like Skanless, but KMD gets my vote.

Hmm... I'll have to think about this one. Both are near classic to me

Pretty close, but I'm going with KMD here...

I don't like this shit at all. No disrespect to Mr Hood because its a decent effort but I wonder sometimes about these choices.

Personally, Mr. Hood to me is 4.5 stars and Skanless is 4.

I got the same ratings as KJ. Sorry Kev, but Skanless is not a personal classic for me.

i havent heard Skanless but i need to. A lot of people do overrate the KMD though, its absolutely asinine/ludicrous/insane to me for anyone to think the KMD albums are better than Doomsday, MM Food, Vaudevile Villain, or Madvillainy

I'd take Black Bastards over all of them except Madvilliany, and I'd say Mr. Hood is on par with MM Food and VV. Doomsday is overrated IMO.

I like Vaughn's style as Zev Love X better than MF Doom because of the subject matter.

What I find funny is that Skanless would jam to any crowd this Mr Hood album is only for a certain type of listener. Play both for a open minded public and Skanless may win.

Skanless is dope but I find myself skipping more songs on it than I do Mr. Hood.

Indeed. Except I think Black Bastards is better than Op. Doomsday. My only exception, really.
