Damn, I'm a big fan of all of these. The order I would put them in is:
1. Jaco (Seems like he put the most work in, and had the most complete entry) 2. Linker (Dopeness.) 2a. SRP (I think this would be #1 for me if there wasn't that long pause every 4 bars.)

LoL - I'm still here Linker. I have been checking back a few times. Good work, bud - especially the engineering of the sounds. Do you use an MPC or software or a combination. And yes I think we should sample Aphex Twin - whew!

Ah. Good to see you're still active. For this beat I used Reason 5. I used ReCycle to chop the samples. I've never used an MPC, but once I get the paper I might get my hands on one. By the picture of Reason on your battle video I'm guessing you also use Reason?

I'm still on Reason 4 and I use recycle also. I have used the MPC 1000, it really lets you shut off the screen and use your ears. And it's so quick to chop a loop, the compressor also has its own sound and gives each beat some punch. I always check between ebay, craigslist and guitar center's used section for the best price.

Sounds like something I'd be interested in. I'm trying to decide whether I want the 1000 or the 2000XL. I heard the 2000XL gives the samples a stripped down feel because of its sampling rate.

Good point about the sample rate. Not trying to make this topic off subject, but since you do a lot of work on the computer which you won't abandon because it will always do some things the MPC won't, you would probably like that you can hook the MPC 1000 up via USB and transfer samples back and forth. You could always try downsampling samples in your audio editor to fewer bits for a grungy or raw sound for certain beats or whatever. As far as I know the XL doesn't do USB. You can always use a Compact Flash card but then you have to have a reader and you have to unplug it. You'd be fine either way - the usb is handy though.
