| I chose top 50. A few classics, and west coast pioneer from Short Dog. | |

| I voted neither. He was only top 100 for me in the first place but, in my opinion, he's hurting his legacy with the stuff he puts out now. Every wack album he releases just brings him further and further down.
Just my take... | |

| I also voted neither. I've liked a few of his songs and guest appearances but lyrically he's well below average. I considered voting him Top 100 but I can honestly come up with 100 MC's better than him. Not to mention that he really hasn't blown up anywhere except the West Coast. |

| Too Short is blown up in the west, south, and midwest. His early catalog alone imo is enough for top 100 at least. Shit Busta Rhymes post 2000 albums are weak also and he made the top 100 so why not Short? Lyrically he used to be average but now he is semi whack.
I agree Nor that he is hurting his legacy with these weak ass albums post 2000 but the work he did in the 80's and 90's are excellent and should not be written off. |

| I think Busta's a far better lyricist than Short. He might be animated but he's entertaining. The Big Bang and Anarchy are post 2000 albums that I've enjoyed very much. Also, Busta has universal appeal, something Short has never truly developed. I have no beef with anybody that votes for Short, I just think he's a below average lyricist. That coupled with the fact that he hasn't blown up universally caused me to vote against him. |

| Too Short has blown up universally the man has went plat on more than one occasion back in the 90's and it was not just because of hte west coast. 6 plat and 3 gold albums that is nothing to laugh at is it? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Too_Short_discography |

Between me and you, I voted neither on Busta too... - KRob86 wrote:

I'm not writing him off. I'm just sayin' that he should put the mic down while he still has the respect of the folks that loved him in the 80's and 90's. I used to check for Short every time he dropped an album (I have quite a few), but this post 2000 shit is so bad that he's pretty much dragging his name down with each release. I disagree with him only blowing up out west, though. I was listening to Too Short back in '88...before downloading and before rap was taken seriously by major labels. Born To Mack, Life Is..., Short Dog's In The House....dude was killin' it in the beginning. | |

| If you are voting strictly on lyricism, Too Short won't make anyone's list, but Short Dog has released classic albums by doing things his way. He is an unquestioned west coast legend. I think people fail to realize how universal Too Short is. I do agree with Norf though. He has been hurting his legacy some with all of his southern influenced albums, but that is only a minor complaint for me. | |

Exactly, and Short can rhyme well and had a unique delivery for his era. No one had embraced the pimpin game on records like Short he was the first to my knowledge. I know Blowfly was around I think but did he rap? Too Short is west coast hip hop mainstream and underground before anyone almost. |

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Too_Short_discography Yeah I know he's been successful, BUT when I said universal appeal, I met appealing to fans nationwide. I don't think Short has sold many records on the East Coast. I'm willing to bet that 80% or better of his sales are on the West Coast. I would be able to overlook that if he were better lyrically, but he just doesn't do it for me on the mic. Both of those factors are what caused me to vote against him. I can clearly come up with 100 MC's better than Short. All that being said, I have no problem with you or anyone else voting for him, because I do recognize his legacy. |

| Short has more good albums than bad albums so why dwell on the later part of his career so much and not at the sametime big up his early work? Not many ole school legends are dropping anything great either and LL made top 50 even though his post 2000 albums have been subpar also. I understand LL is way betta lyrically but Short is a pioneer and west coast legend. |

Not necessarily Shon, just because maybe he heard some trks or skimmed a album does not mean he tried Too Short. He strikes as a due that heard him and his subject matter and did not like it from the jump. "Me, where do I start? though if I do, it'll be sometime in the next 2 weeks." I say start with "Life Is..." or "Get In Where You Fit In". |

I don't have a grudge against you how many fucking times do I have to say that? I always str8 up told you I don't like some of your "internet ways/manners" but other than that I get a kick out of you at times. But to vote neither for Too Short and give no logic reason kinda struck me as you be a ass by nature again. |

| No one can deny Too $hort's early shit and his MAJOR impact on the game...but he faded bad, and all the trash, straight trash he has released recently dropped him out man...I mean of all the old dudes still doing his shit is by far the worst in my opinion, so he gets a neither vote from me. |

| The way the vote is looking now how should I do this? Since "Neither" and "Top 100" are tied do we now take the votes for Top 50 into consideration? |

| I feeel like I said before if you are not a fan or even a causal listener and you never really heard a Short album you should not vote. Too Short is top 100 but now with this tie it looks crazy, I'm assuming in this situation he'll make top 100 due to the majority votes in Top 50 and top 100. |
