I'm sure it will be fine, but i'm nowhere near a big enough fan of the album to take the risk.

Was at my local FYE today, and was surprised by the actual selection they had for rap/hip-hop there. They actually had a copy of Swollen Members' "Armed To The Teeth". I was shocked!

Anywho, I picked up Blue Scholars, and The Likwit Junkies...combined, it cost me $8.

^^^ Yo Parker, been listening to WWOZ while i do my morning rituals...excellent stuff so far...I've only heard some mellow jazz this morning but I'm sure there's more variety throughout the day from the looks of the site. I'm not a jazz "fan" per se because I don't know a lot about it but I have always enjoyed it as my dad is a huge fan. If I could teach him how to use the internet as a radio he would be stoked, lol. Good rec, man.

Glad you like it. You really should check out season 1 of Treme. They're using that show to dissect New Orleans just like they did with B'more in The Wire. Season 1 focuses primarily on the dedication the people have to preserving the music, food and festival traditions. I can't say enough that it is easily top 3 tv shows right now... all time, personally.

That Free Philthy is really good, the problem is that half the tracks are on other releases, so you should check your collection against it before you pay too much for it. I was wondering about that 4-Tay as well, haven't heard any reviews for it, but I really haven't looked in to it. When did that Reekalation 2 drop?

That Reekalation II just dropped today or last week. I just bumped the first disc and it has some dope tracks, but fuck is that shit mastered poorly - also sounds like he recorded that shit on a phone line or some shit... definitely fucks up the vibe.

Went used today and copped:

Pooh Sauce - Money Every Where
Amp and Berner - Traffic 2
Money Gang - 2 Chain Gang
Hollow Tip - Street Value
Mercenaries - Mercenary Movement

You know Reek Daddy is far from my favorite either, but it was two discs and 8.99 after the coupon so I said why not... it has Coolio and Dubee on a few tracks so if the recording was proper it'd be a lot better... oh well.. might just throw it back on amazon. Is that Money Gang something new or just a re-release of an old mixtape? I'm assuming it's a re-release?

And I have no clue when the new rydah is dropping, the Money Gang dropped today and inside they advertise a new mac dre/kilo curt but no new rydah. I know the last few unreleased mac dre songs are dropping in an EP soon. You should download the Dremixx and tell me what you think... it's old mac dre songs with new verses from other people so I don't think I'll like it.

I assume that Money Gang is just a re-release of the 2006 mixtape. I'll look for that dremixx dl over on The Bay Music, I'm a dl mod over there now...little do they know I don't know how to do much more than find the power button on my computer hahahaha.

It was a free mixtape back in 2007, so I shouldn't have to pm you shaun... see if this one works.

Raphael seems to be stuck in the 60s/70s time period. If you like The Way I See It then you'll like Stone Rollin'. Stone Rollin' is basically just a sequel to The Way I See It. If you would like for him to go back to the Tony Toni Tone/Instant Vintage time period then you might not like Stone Rollin'. I think it's worth getting just for Good Man alone but that's just me.

Hell yeah man. This is one of those times when the battle rap style comes together perfectly almost with dope hooks and beats. They sound so hungry on almost every trk and all of them spazz the fuck out lyrically. Especially Royce and Crooked.

Spins:

Blue Scholars- Oof! & Cinemetropolis (Love both of these joints. They can do no wrong)

DJ Quik- Quik Is the Name (Sweet Asian punany... Porn)

D. Black- Ali'Yah (I honestly think a lot of heads would dig this album if they gave it an honest listen. One of my favorite albums to drop in 09)

Rappin' 4-Tay- Off Parole (Easily my favorite 4-Tay album, so many dope tracks. I Paid My Dues>>>>>>>>>>>)

Dru Down- Can You Feel Me (It's been a while since I bumped this. Still jams. Out of the three Dru Down albums I have of his, this one is easily his finest).

Highsmith, great pick up with that Thy Kingdom Come. Most of my top 5 King Tee list was off this one: The 2 Battlecat tracks & the Quik track are way funky.

Tran, as for Off Parole: 25-2-Life >>>>>>, but I Paid My Dues is classic as well. Can You Feel Me is my 2nd favorite Dru Down disc, Battlecat's Playa Fo Real is a great track, but the title track & The Mobb are my 2 favorites off of that one.

I take it Explicit Game is your favorite Dru album? I own that and Gangsta Pimpin'. Both are really solid, with Explicit Game close to Can You Feel Me, but doesn't have as many standout tracks imo.

What you think of 4-Tay 'Bigga Than Da Game'? I'm missing that one in my collection.

How is the Canibus & Keith Murray Terry? I heard the song with Tech 9 and eventhough I'm not a Tech 9 fan, the song was pretty good.

It was good on one spin, but i wasn't giving it my complete attention at the time. I liked G Rap's album more than the Canibus.
