| This album has always been a personal favorite of mine, basically since its release in 1997. Disc 1 is full of fire, with the slight exception of "Maria" (lol). Disc 2 is not too far behind, but "The Second Coming" and "Black Shampoo" kind of disrupt the flow of that disc. I've always given this album a 4.5 star rating, overall. Needless to say I'm going to bumping this album today, so that got me thinking about this thread. It's been almost 15 years since its initial release, and with time and perspective, do you feel this a 5 star classic in your opinion or not? | |

| No, it's not 5 stars. No hip hop double album is 5 stars IMO. It's 4.5 stars to me. | |

| No but 4.0-4.5 seems like a fair rating to me. And I agree with Terry that no double cd objectively is str8 5 stars. | |

| I will agree with Terry on this one. As much as I like Life After Death, if I objectively rate it, even that isn't 5 stars and that is my favorite double CD. I would say 4.5 stars myself. | |

| I think that this is a 4 to 4.5 stars-range album. This is very dope, a near classic, but 36 Chambers is superior and is the real Wu-Tang undisputed best effort. | |

Best lyrical album of all time? Really??? Umm no. It's a dope album but not even close to being the most lyrical ever. 4.5 star album.

| What I've noticed about double LPs is that Disc 1 is dope, Disc 2 pretty much sucks. | |

I wouldn't go there and say disc 2 suck but most of the time it plays its position perfectly as number 2. K-Rino AOTEM is one of those rare double's that both disc are on the same level.

Okay, I'll ease up a bit, but I'm just not feelin' disc 2 on most of those double albums. One exception is EPMD - Out of Business.

Out Of Business doesn't really count because Disc 2 was a greatest hits disc.
