| We need some discussion around here so please no one line response's.
What artists, grps, movements, albums, etc etc you thought were going to do good-great things but in the long run they just never got there? Please explain who or what you pick.

| Styles P- After hearing his verses on We Are The Streets and his spots on the Ruff Ryder volumes I was really feeling him. Gangster and Gentlemen really pushed it over the edge for me and he was on track to becoming a surefire fav rapper of mine. I'm talking top 30 or so. But after the hiatus between that album and the seemingly rushed Time Is Money was dropped I started 2nd guessing that feeling I had. Time Is Money was not a bad album at all but I just expected more. Then I hear Super Gangster and that did it for me. He just fell off my radar solo album wise from that point on.
Lately he has been creeping back up on me with the super dope guest spots he has been doing in the last 3yrs or so. But until I hear another truly dope solo album from him he will be in my disappointed bin.
The Lox- Almost like with Styles they really had me for minute there and I was a believer that they were about to be lyrical game changers for what a rap grp can sound like. They're 2nd album was better than the 1st which is rare these days so I really thought they were about to mash. Well shit its been over 7yrs and no 3rd album? How the fuck does this happen when they have dropped numerous solo albums within this time span. LOX has to be the true definition of killing your own potenial.
I'll be back with more.

| I was gonna mention the Lox in general. I think Canibus is another example too. He has all the talent in the world. He had the hype and market after 2nd Round KO, and then he kinda fizzled out like a bottle rocket. He's still dope though. He just never reached what he was capable of. | |

| All kinds of West Coast acts come to mind:
Knocturnal-Was supposed to be Dre's next big thing. Released the dope "La Confidential Presents" ep and another album after that. I haven't heard from dude again and I assume Dre dropped him.
Bishop Lamont-I've given up on this cat. Another Dre prodege that we'll probably never get anything but mixtapes from.
Twinz-Man, this groups debut album still gets plenty of spins from me. Not sure what happened to them but they just kind of disappeared. The G Funk era came and went pretty fast so i assume that really hurt their career.
K-Dee-Wish i could find who stole his album from me years ago because I can't afford another one. Really laid back west coast ish. One of Cube's boys but another one that just kind of disappeared.
Kausion-I thought this group was destined for big things. Loved "South Central Los Skanless". I guess Cube's prodege's disappear just like Dre's do.
RBX-Used to appear on all the big Death Row Projects and released an album that I admittedly haven't heard, but he never did blow up.

| Terry I hear you on Canibus. Even though I never was a big fan I was always highly impresed with his guest spots especially with Lost Boys & that LL trk. But like most battle rap type rappers he could not deliver on a higher level in the album department. | |

| E Taylor out of that whole list the one that stands out the most is K Dee. I was big on his album and he literally just disappeared. No one even mentioned him from Cube's camp or circle it was like he never existed. Only sign of life from him I remember was the song he did for Dangerous Ground soundtrk and his guest spot on that 1st Westside Connection album.
I never really cared for Nocturnal but I did think he was about to blow. I knew the Twinz were going to only do so much. Same with Kausion. RBX has dropped albums but I have only heard one since his 1st.

| as much as it pains me to say this and its strange because he is among my top 10 favorite MCs, Ras Kass. After Soul on Ice i actualy think he could have made himself the best rapper ever, but the jail time, the label issues, and the fact that he wanted to make some commercial songs hindered what he was fully capable of. I wouldnt say he disappointed me though but i think he could have been at the top | |

| K-Dee was great. Gonzoe of Kausion is still making records, check the New Skool section for info on his latest Purgatory. | |

| A few of the people already listed as well as...
Killer Mike- Killa Kill from the Ville is one of my personal favorites but I thought he was on the verge of being a household name. He's been consistently putting out records but seems to still be somewhat underground. There are a few rappers out that are more popular that he would eat alive on their own tracks.

| It's kind of disappointing that MIC do as much nothing as they do.
Goretex killed it on every track he touched... until he dropped his own album. That shit was terrible.
Redman's last album was quite a let down.

Redman's last album was quite a let down. The Art of Dying? That had some nice tracks man. Earth Rot is one of the best tracks with him on it that I have heard.
