Souljah Boy said "Fuck The Troops" in a new song "Get Real". It caused a flurry of criticism. The military is not stocking his marchandise on Army bases now. Even though SB already issued out in apology its too little too late. Army guys have already recorded diss tracks.

This idiot doesn't deserve any attention whatsoever. He can't rhyme, and nothing but stupidity comes out of his mouth when he talks.

He was dead to me when he first came onto the scene.

I am in no way cosigning or necessarily supporting what he said or his "talent" but I see this from a different angle.
Soulja Boy has claimed off and on that he wants to step his rhyme skills up and subject matter. Also I have read that he was/is big into Pac and some Nas so maybe in his own way and in his world he thought he was making rebel music. You know like most of the shit we like? I have heard some of our fav artist say fuck a war and some other controversial shit and we luv it. But since its soulja boy who we hate (lol) now its a problem?

Naw, SB dissed the troops, its a big difference than saying Fuck A WAr. Hell, the soldiers themselves will say fuckawar.
Souljah will never get his rhymes up--ever, He's not cappable. He was a one-hit wonder that stayed in the game too long.

So what if he dissed troops. This is hip hop isn't it? We have said fuck some everthing and they are no exception. You just do not like him or what his whack music represents and I overstand that. But I look at the bigger picture. At least there was an attempt or thought about stepping his rhyme game up. He obviously needs some guidance but the effort or at the very least the thought was there.

Naw, what Souljajh Boy did was unaaceptable. My real father died in the military. Also alot of dudes from the hood join the Armed Forces to get out the hood and see the world. And GI's buy a lot of music. I lived in military housing in Germany, and we had no bootleggers. And the PX and Shoppette carried all sorts of rap. I remember when Geto Boys dropped their first album. It sold like hotcakes. Every GI was bumping it out their cars or jeeps. And when the Germans heard what was popular with Americans they went to cop it too.
Im not against Soulja Boy cause of his nursery rhymes its the fact he wannabe gangster. People are still under the illusion he's a fun kidz bop type of rapper endorsed by Nickelodeon. Souljah Boy is a straight up gangster rapper by all means. He uses foul language, he talks hella shit. Also SB did a public announcement saying he was going to create more of a positive image for himself for his largely kid fan base. What happened. He spiraled down deeper into darkness.I dont want to hear any bullshit about how young he is and we should give him a break. Look how old Nas, LL Cool J, and Busta Rhymes was whan they started crafting classics in the music industry

Trotter all that is fine and dandy but this is hip hop and he's not the first i'm sure to say some hurtful shit to another grp or people. Like I said he could have said the samething and got away with it if he would have used more skill. But he has no written skills and to make matters worst I think that was a freestyle.
I get what you saying though that he may have just bite a major hand that fed him. But his lack of skills would have evenually killed him anyway...lol.

I wouldn't say lack of skills would kill him. Don't you see Lil B still getting all that hype? His "hey you could rap better than me, seriously" performance on the mic is a big part of his success.

I don't think this is even debate or media worthy. Soulja Boy may need to encounter some real soldiers in the streets and see bout them hands since he's expressing himself.

Should we even pay Soulja boy any attention? I mean it's not like this is a high end MC we're talking about...just a wannabe brat that probably doesn't even write his own songs. I mean come on, this isn't the first time he's said something stupid. Listen to any of his tracks :p
