| What's up folks. I'm curious, what do you think are the best albums that have come out this year so far? Overall I think 2011 has been a really good year as far as a ton of solid record releases and a couple really amazing ones. Here's my top 4, feel free to list more/less.
1) Kendrick Lamar - Section .80 Wow, just wow. This shit was great! I had heard Kendrick on Jay Rock's Follow Me Home and didn't think much of him, so when I heard this album I didn't give it much attention. But he definitly put out a damn near classic in my book, this is definitly worth a spin from start to finish.
2) Brotha Lynch Hung - The Coathanga Strangla My only experience of BLH prior to this was from Dinner and a Movie, and I was really happy this album managed to live up to my rather high expectations. His style and approach got a lot more refinied and metaphores/similes are crazy. The material could have used some new blood but since it's a concept album I give him a pass on that. Really looking forward to Mannabalector next year
3) K-Rino - Alien Baby I really love K-Rino and I'm glad that I've seen him getting some more attention these last couple of releases. This album was solid from front to back. Tiny complaint, I think the cover looks a little bizare and it hasn't really grown on me. But still, the music is outstanding. Best tracks are imo are Who Is This and Flow Session Number 2
4) Tech N9ne - All 6's and 7's Being a long time Tech N9ne fan I was a little nervous when I heard about all the guest appearences. There are a lot of collabs on this album and since TGMP was so recent and kind of weak I thought this was going to be a glorified collab album. Thankfully I was proved completely wrong. The album is a classic from beginging to end and Tech is on the top of his game here. I haven't stopped bumping this album from the day it came out, it's got a solid concept and amazing lyrics. The guests all fit their spots really well. Busta absolutely smashes on World Wide Choppers and even Lil Wayne manages to sound good on Fuck Food. The only songs I thought were average are Pornographic and You Owe Like Pookie. The bonus tracks are also pretty good. Tech is on my short list for GOAT and this album definitly solidifys his spot. Favorite album of the year thusfar.

| Those are all good picks, except I didn't really like the Tech album. Most of the posters on here did though. | |

| That other thread is jammed up. So threads like this bring a nice breeze.
Here's my top 5-
Big KRIT- Return Of 4eva- I still haven't heard anything thats better than this one.
Raekwon- Shaolin vs. Wu- Rae has been on a role in the album department.
Freddie Foxxx & Statik- Lyrical Workout- Freddie Foxxx sounds like a young rookie trying to get in the game. And Statik supplied him with the perfect ebats to fit his style.
Reks- REKS- not many are still talking about this one but it has been in rotation since it dropped.
DJ Quik- Book Of David- there are 2-3 more albums that could round out this top 5 but i'll pick this one.

In terms of sound I guess it is somewhat similar to APOS. As far as where I'd rank it, I'd say its their 3rd best album behind WRFF and APOS. Dirty Acres is growing on me more and more though. Check this thread out: https://hiphopforlife.forumotion.com/t8015-cunninlynguists-oneirology

It's is most like APOS in that it is a dark and it's a concept album. The production is very atmospheric/spacey/synthy. I would say Kno went in the direction he was going with on Death is Silent but took it to a whole other level. My top 5 would be CL- Oneirology Big KRIT- Return of 4Eva Killer Mike- Pl3dge Curren$y- Covert Coup G-Side- The One...Cohesive The South is killing it this year!

| Oh and as of right now, I would rank Cunnin's discog
1a APOS 1b Oneirology 1c Dirty Acres 4. SouthernUnderground 5. WRFF
That's how strong I think Oneirology is.
