| I know there are a few RHCP fans on here. Has anyone heard I'm With You? Thoughts? | |

| I bought it yesterday and spun it once. I'd give it a 6.5. None of the tracks were bad but it all seemed to kinda blend together and nothing really stood out. It might grow on me with more spins. | |

| Chili Peppers rarely make music that is downright bad. Add Rick Rubin in the studio and you know this is going to be raw and un-convoluted. I guess it'll just come down to whether you're feeling where they're at these days.
I will buy this blind today.

| I'm pretty sure he's produced their last 4 albums or so. | |

| Ha. I've never actually looked at the albums. I thought he was only involved in their earlier stuff | |

| I strongly recommend previewing this.
I hate to bash Rubin but the biggest problem with this album is over-production.
Kiedis never really let's go, either. Flea rips on his fretboard, but never seems to close out. It almost seems like he's pushing for a dance-rock vibe... The Killers come to mind. There's a couple tracks that sound exactly like Cake.
The guitar is mostly nonexistent. A few nice melodies, a couple distortion-driven crescendos.
The drums are alive and interesting to follow. In all honesty, it's the one and only aspect of this album containing any excitement or creativity.
These are weak songs... but, they're weak Chili Pepper songs at least. So there's that.
