First of all this shit is not a massacre. Soul Food is easily just as good as that Rae. So fuck u very much.

This is a toss up for me. Both rank around the same spot for my fav albums. I'm going with Soul Food just because Rae needs no help. Good either way.

Soul Food wins in originality, creativity, production, lyrics...not by a huge margin, but really OB4CL is just 36 Chambers distilled, whereas Soul Food was groundbreaking IMO.

Good points Jeff. I agree. That Rae just flat out sounds so good. Can't deny that. But that Goodie is original and also sounds so good.

Exactly, when you're comparing 5 star classics against each other, things like creativity, originality, impact, etc start to mean a lot more than just your average album of the week debates. OB4CL is reaaaaally dope, but Soul Food does a lot more for me on different levels.

OB4CL is RZA's materpiece, IMO

I agree that Soul Food is more original and creative. I disagree on production being better, though. To me, they're even at best, but I'd give a slight edge to OB4CL.

Personally, I prefer The Purple Tape just a tad more, so it gets my vote.

That's fine, the production is definitely a personal preference thing because it's incredible on both, but like I said, I simply thinks it's better on Soul Food because Rae's album is just a better version of stuff we've heard before.

I own the Soul Food album, and I'm certainly not taking anything away from it (it's a classic), however, I'm a little surprised at how close the votes are for this one. If SF ends up winning against OB4CL, I will be surprised and a little stunned.

It shows blind loyalty and semi ignorance to be surprised an album like Soul Food can beat OB4CL. Soul Food is a GIANT of an album in hip hop culture. Do not get it twisted, I know Wu Tang is bigger popularity wise as a grp but Soul Food was just as if not more popular than the Rae album.

And Highsmith you get the hell outta here with the down playing of Soul Foods production. Prior to Soul Food we never heard beats like that. We heard almost every beat and subject matter on Rae album before.

Haha! I think it's been established that all 4 semi-finalists are classics. I meant I'd take LS, OB4CL, or Soul Food over MATW. I really love em all, and can't be upset about any winning over another. That's just the order I rank them in.

I think he was mostly speaking in terms of originality & innovation. Soul Food was something brand new, whereas 36 Chambers, Tical, and ODB had already been released.

To be fair though, wasn't Rae's album actually the first finished Wu album?
