| I read a recent news item today that stated J. Cole is already beginning work on his second album. I've noticed that some artists have begun to do this nowadays, whereas with Cole, his album just came out. That made me create this topic. If you were an artist, and you just released your first album (not an EP, mixtape, etc), when would you begin work on your second album? | |

| If he (or whomever) is inspired and the art is organic, then i don't have an issue with it. It's when a rapper is just 'grinding' for cash and churning out shit non-stop that it bothers me.
But, to answer your question, I wouldn't start until i felt like i had something to say, but then again there is something to be said for always working because you never know when inspiration may strike... just got to have good quality control on what you release.
So apparently my real answer is Idk/whenever lol.

| I would wait 3 months, 17 days, 11 hours, 29 minutes, and 13 seconds before i began recording for my sophomore album. | |

| I would most likely start recording immediately. Because 99.9% of musicians don't make any money. So why would they wait?
If my albums was successful, I'll go with Terry's answer. Sounds about right.

| Trick question, I would include material omitted from the debut album on the sophomore album. | |
