Best Album 1996 Round 3: Reasonable Doubt vs. Illadelph Halflife (A)

These are my two favorite albums of 1996.

I'm gonna vote for Illadelph Halflife, because RD is likely gonna win. Those that haven't heard Illadelph should give it a shot. If you like the Roots at all you'll like this album, it's my personal fav from them.

Reasonable Doubt is about as average as it gets. Illadelph Halflife is a classic.

Illa Delph is classically boring. RD is over hyped also though. Its not my fav Jay album but its betta then this Roots album. Some people hear rhythm well you know?

I was just saying RD production is more engaging if you will then Illa Half. I like dope beats with some rhythm.

Yeah, nobody ever accused ?uestlove of having any rhythm. Honestly, the production on Reasonable Doubt sounded outdated when I first heard it back then. I liked it because Jay-Z was bringing something new with his flow at the time. I say average, but it's most definitely on the better side of that.

I really don't see Halflife as boring, either way though.

I ain't over hyping shit. Just because you ain't feelin the Roots like that doesn't mean I'm over hyping it. It's considered a classic by people that do like the Roots so shut the fuck up.

You say you like dope beats with a rhythm? You must have deaf ears then if you ain't feelin Illadelph because production wise it's every bit as good as Reasonable Doubt and it could be argued that it's better.

I think so too but it's debatablem both albums have excellent production. I spin them about the same.

I'm not surprised at the result here, I was just making a point that Illadelph is just as dope. Anyone who doesn't like it clearly isn't a Roots fan. I'll be voting for RD for the remainder of the tourney.
