| I find myself liking Kanye West more and more each time I listen to him. Not just because of his skills behind the boards, but on the mic as well. As of this posting, I played "Through The Wire" at least 6 times today and that one track right there, while old and I own it of course, made me appreciate and respect him even more for his talents. I can't forget about the man's discography also, which is excellent on all levels. | |

| I hardly believe anybody that put out 808s & Heartbreak could have a discography called "excellent on all levels". While I used to be a huge West fan, I find myself unable to enjoy 90% of his work these days, with the exception of College Dropout, which is still dope as fuck to me. But even his sophomore album has worn thin...to each their own, though. |

College Dropout is one of those albums where when I first played, I like it quite a bit, and it continued to grow on me after each listen. Speaking of his sophomore album, I'm going to be revisiting that one soon also.

That right there. I will say that the 4 or 5 standout tracks from Late Registration are still dope.

| I feel you Wayne. He's a fav rapper of mine. Top 50 easily. And producer wise he's top 5 easily for me. I know he is not for everybody and get why some dislike him. But I really enjoy most of his music. Take 808's out the eqaution and his discog is damn near flawless. I luv the emotion/passion he raps with and his witty humorous lines. Also the fact he injects substance in his music is also a big plus. Ye is one of the best thing to happen to hip hop this decade. All hate and dislike aside he will still go down as one of the legends/pioneers of this game. | |

| While I don't feel like West pioneered jack shit, I will agree with the rest of what you said Kev. I feel like his music moved away from where it started, and that's fine, but the rest of his shit just isn't for me. He has become what he criticized most IMO. |

| I agree that if you take 808 out of the equation then his discog is damn near flawless. I have to say I am a big Kanye fan. It's also hilarious how socially retarded he is. | |

| I'v been listening to my Kanye playlist this morning at work...
It's kinda funny because Kanye is clearly a big fucking fag...until you press play. Then my man is a god damn genius. I think he is criminally underrated lyrically. He has really clever and memorable lines that are actually meaningful and impactful, not just a bunch of words that rhyme like Wayne. I'm surprised more mainstream listeners don't consider Ye this generations greatest instead of Wayne. And I agree that without 808s, he would have one of the most impressive catalogs of recent history.

| On the mic, Kanye has always been and always will be a complete joke to me. College dropout was OK to me, but I haven't been able to stomach anything else. Especially newer shit. Not to mention he's a complete douchebag. | |

| Kanye is a good producer, mediocre rapper and piece of shit human being... I hope nobody else has been subjected to the slow torture of seeing this clown in concert. Skinny jeans, mullets, extra medium sized t-shirts, bubblicious bullshit. | |

| lol... amazing to me how anyone would argue his full conversion from 'hip-hop artist' to 'pop star'. I see nothing in-between about his music at all. I was stuck watching this year's Mtv awards show... there really is nothing to separate him from the Biebers and Gagas anymore.
edit: Except that he was possibly the least creative performer there.

Kanye put on a good concert when I saw him in New Orleans. He had everyones attention, even people I could tell were not fans. As far as the human being comment, you don't know him personally. He has said some dumb shit and made some questionable choices but he is human.

| Kanye is a Top 15-20 producer and no better than a Top 100 rapper. Probably lower than that skillwise, but discog wise he's credible.
He's been brilliant behind the boards, but there are at least 10+ guys I'd put over him historically. On the mic he's like a lot of MC's these days, an average lyricist who's production makes him sound better than he really is. I have liked most of the material that he's dropped. However, as a human being he is tremendously flawed.
