The album is not more homo than Take Care. The beats are a bit all over the place(none worse than Heartbeat, LOL), but he does display certain level of lyrical skill that i was not expecting. It was far from great but better than i expected. He also does a nice job of carrying a theme throughout the album although the theme is a bit homo, lol!

I should rest my case about what u listen to as well...lol
But my bad tho, Gambino doesn't sound like Plies so I get why u won't dig him.
I saw Gambino live like 5-6 months back when came to Seattle. Dude put on a great show, hence why I've been anticipating this one for a minute now. Plus, he named himself after the Wu...how can u hate on that? lol

He didn't really name himself after the Wu...he used a Wu-Tang name generator and that was his result. It was just a gag-type name.
Anyway, I haven't heard this yet but I wasn't too impressed with the mixtapes (or albums?) that he put out leading up to this. It was a bit too and the beat selection was iffy but he did show some signs of skill on the mic. I'm not sure if I can take him seriously as a rapper (especially an type rapper) when he's so funny as Troy on Community.

He did chose to used a Wu-Tang name generator, so he's expecting something related to Wu-Tang no? In my book, that means he named himself after the Wu.

Just spun this joint. I'm sure some fags like Kev would probably find this too homo for them, but overall it wasn't bad. Like Terry said the production was all over in style and lyrically he surprised me. He said something about being with a crazy asian bitch - virginia tech... thought that shit was clever. Donald is still a better comedian than rapper, but this joint was cool.

Nah, this is serious rap.
I thought he was gonna do comedy the first time I heard about him, but when he raps he does it as seriously as one can. No comedy.

Man, this joint is actually pretty good. There are def some really bad parts, mainly the singing. Some of the hooks are kinda wack, too. I thought the rapping and the overall production was pretty dope, though. The album started out pretty strong with the first 3 tracks and had me interested, but then it takes a horrible turn at All The Shine, which is then followed by Letter Home and Heartbeat, two more gay ass songs. I could see Heartbeat being a popular song, though, it just has that hit sound I guess. After that the album is pretty good except for the singing, as I mentioned before. The one huge thing that I think is going to either hurt him or help him is that his style sounds like a mix between Kanye and Drake. So...you know...if you don't like those dudes, you're probably not gonna like this dude. I give it a 3.0.
