The Avengers 2

Recently, after hearing about the upcoming release of Ant-Man, I heard that there were conflicts about the way that Marvel has whored itself out to different production companies. Supposedly Fox owns X-men and all mutant-type characters and another company owns The Avengers, which would conflict when Avengers tries to add Wasp, who is a mutant herself...blah blah...

Anyway, it made me look around to see if there were any Avengers 2 plot teasers anywhere and I came across one that sounds fucking awesome. It includes Djimon Hounsou as Black Panther, Patrick Wilson as Ant-Man, Amanda Seyfried as the Enchantress, Kristen Bell replacing Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts, and Johnny fucking Depp as Dr. Strange, which I actually found pretty fitting.

Sounds good. Not sure if an Ant Man movie would be interesting. To me he was one of those whatever chracters.

No one has been cast to play Ant Man (yet), and Kristen Bell is interested in playing Wasp (not Pepper Pots?), although (as I've mentioned before) the film is focusing on Scott Lang and not Hank Pym since Frost is writing the movie as a comedy:

The only movies Marvel has actually announced for "Phase 2" are the following:

Guardians of the Galaxy (FUCKING EPIC YESSS, I AM GROOOOOOOOOOT)
Captain America 2: Winter Solider (kid who played Bucky is coming back)
Thor: Dark world
Ant Man
they also mentioned a script being approved for an Inhumans movie...ugh.

Yes, Fox owns the rights to Daredevil (unless they don't start shooting a film by Nov of this year, then right revert back to Marvel, however they already have a script based on Frank Miller's Born Again), Blade, Ghost Rider, X-Men and related characters (including Wolverine and Deadpool), and Spider Man and related characters (including Venom, which Fox is really interested in a doing a spin off of, so expect him in one of the next two Spidey movies).

Fox is reportedly doing the "Days of the Future Past" storyline for X Men First Class 2, with Hugh Jackman reprising his role of Wolverine. Ryan Reynolds has been pushing really hard for an R Rated Deadpool, and some test footage has been shot.

Marvel is trying to work a deal out with fox (as I've mentioned before) to get both Spidey and Wolvie in the next Avengers movie. It works out for everyone since Fox gets free advertising and Marvel gets to use their own characters.

All those other movies and casting are just shit that fans would like to see happen. Marvel has explicitly stated on several occasions they have no plans to do anything with Dr. Strange since they can't even keep a title with his name on it on the stands, so why would they do a movie? Black Panther and Luke Cage are both guys Marvel has mentioned wanting to do work on (and "some movie with a female lead") but both have been on again/off again works with no real progress, despite Tyrese Gibson pushing REALLY hard to get cast as Luke Cage for the past 10 years. I know Michael Jai White wants to play Black Panther, as well.

OH, and if Simon Pegg is playing the villain in the Ant Man movie (which he says he wants to do, and since it's Frost, he'll get his way) I expect more than just hardcore Marvel nerds like me will want to see the movie. Odds are he'll play Stilt Man or something similarly hilarious, and Adrien Brody has been approached about playing Scott Lang (but contract negotiations are up in the air).

EDIT: To be fair, Janet IS a mutant in the Ultimate Marvel universe, where much of the Marvel movies draw inspiration from (including and especially the black Nick Fury, and Hulk's revised origin), HOWEVER, Fox only has rights to X Men and their ancillary characters, NOT ALL MUTANTS. That would be like Marvel selling the rights to all heroes who got their powers through radiation to New Line, not gonna happen and legally unfeasible.

Deadpool will prob be dope as fuck and I've been hoping that they would do some version of Spidey/X-men. Some other rumor site I was reading also mentioned the possibility of Venom and even Carnage in the forthcoming Spidey movies. Again, you prob know more about that shit than me.

Dr. Strange could be dope as fuck if they put some actual love into it and could potentially boost their Strange Sales. Hell it's not like they've never done a Strange film before. I like Scott Lang but he got a film before Strange. ManThing gets a flick but not Strange?

Personally I've never really been a fan of the Wasp. Would've been neat if they had added Black Knight. But I'm more stoked to see Black Panther in Avengers cause hopefully that'll lead to his own movie.
I hope Guardians will be good. And I definitely want Iron Fist and Luke Cage to get movies.

Yeah, if I came off as condescending it wasn't meant to be direct toward you but more so idiots on comics forums that just make shit up especially right after a very publicized panel at comic con completely debunked 90% of the shit they're talking about. Carnage is rumored to be a villain at least in the Venom film but people don't really want him in the Spidey movies because two symbiotes might be too much plus the fact he's a serial killer and Spidey movies are traditionally family affairs. I'm a huge comic nerd and check up on this shit daily. So, I apologize if I came off as a dick, sir. Not my intention.

I think not putting Carnage in a Spidey flick is a good idea especially after reading Maximum Carnage. By the way the video game was awesome. Did anybody here ever beat it?

I hope DOFP is great otherwise a lot diehards will be pissed. I think if they can pull it off they should do Age of Apocalypse. Now that would be epic!

how are they going to do Days of Future Past in First Class 2?? That will make no sense from a continuity standpoint, but if they make a different version and do it well I can respect that

They're going to tie in all the X Men movies with it, and they are actively trying to get Hugh Jackman and maybe the chick that played Kitty in it. There are rumors Matt Vaughn really wants to do AoA for the third 1st Class movie which would be dope if they can pull it off. But yes, it's obviously not going to 100% faithful, but there will be huge sentinels and hopefully Wolverine. Also, DOFP is really short (I think only two issues if I'm not mistaken) so they'll have to take some liberties to stretch it into a 2 hour movie. It will also be really refreshing for an x men property to not have fucking magneto as a villain in some capacity.

Ellen Page as Kitty was awesome. It was one of the few shining moments in X3 (for the clusterfuck that it was).

I concur having Magneto as the villain all the time does get annoying somewhat. They do have a better villains roster than that. If they're DOFP I hope it includes Nimrod or Bastion. Or maybe some of the Zero Tolerance Sentinels. Do you think they're going to add Bishop as well?

Not at all man. My knowledge of Marvel is limited to the cartoons and a little bit of insight some card collecting friends of mine shared with me back in the day, so I don't claim to know wtf I'm talking about. I just posted what I had heard/read to start the convo flowing. I would love to get into the comics one day but they seem way too vast to even make a dent at this point. My son has really taken to superheroes, both Marvel and DC, so it's cool to actually have someone to watch this stuff with. As much as I enjoy the flicks, I enjoy them that much more since he is into them. I'm actually jealous of all the cool toys he has...Captain America's mask and shield that shoots discs, Thor's helmet and hammer with shooting lightning, Hulk hands, Wolverine claws with slash sounds, Ironman helmet and hand shooters, full Spidey costumes (red and black), etc...the kid's fuckin loaded, lol.

Did you get your son the "web shooters" that were just a fucking shoestring with a ball on the end? So fucking lame. If you put the string in with ball side out, the string just shoots out then you have to find it and re-load it every fucking time (with no way to shoot more than one in a row) and if you load it with the ball side in it doesn't fire all the way but if you rewind it too far you still have to fucking re-load it. Such a fucking waste of money. And my son's cap shield stopped firing discs like 5 minutes after I got it up and going. He doesn't care though, just likes the shield lol.

Yes!!! I hated those fucking web shooters! I thought they would be dope too cuz he got two for his bday (from two diff people). It just ended up being two pieces of garbage. His shield still shoots like a champ tho. Actually, a little too good. Those discs fuckin hurt when they catch you in the face or in the dick. Plus it sounds like its gonna blow up when the motor is running, lol.
